What's wrong with the US justice system is that anyone with an IQ of 80 or more knows how to get off jury duty. So what you're left with are morons deciding murderer cases. Put 12 morons in the same room and this is the result you get. Disgusting.

The guy just made a good point on ABC just now. The reason why these "High Profile" cases come back not guilty is, the jury knows the world is watching and they're more inclined to follow the law to a "T". If this wasn't on the news every night, they'd be more inclined to find her guilty.

Was the jury even watching the trial? Her defense was complete garbage. I can't believe she got off.

When you consider that the prosecution did not have any evidence linking her to the crime, or a cause of death, its not that surprising...

So if you get enough national attention, you're entitled to a free pass at murder. I'm thinking you're right based on OJ and Casey Anthony.

the justice system only fails when a innocent person is convicted. the system is designed in such a way that it is better for a guilty person to go free than an innocent person be convicted. it's a good thing the system is that way evidenced by people who don't get so upset when a person on death row is found innocent.

I have not followed this case all that much, but it seems to me that not having a cause of death, makes it hard to get past reasonable doubt.

    I have one question......

If she isn't guilty, who pays for this little kids death?

No one gets in any trouble for the fact that a 2 year old baby girl died, and wasn't even reported missing for 31 days? Then when she was finally found....duct tape was hanging from her skull. Case closed??

this should be really alarming to people. jurors only follow the law as they should when TV is watching. this statement, if true, would indicate there are many people in jail that are innocent(or at least not guilty). which is more of a travesty than casey anthony found not guilty.

Excellent point. An old legal adage states that it's better that 1000 guilty go free than 1 innocent be convicted. Casey Anthony is guilty as hell IMO, but better she go free than someone go to jail for something they didn't do. That said, the case against Casey was overwhelming IMO, she was not that rare case--I'm sure of it.

That's great but there are still thousands in jail wrongfully convicted, some very obviously so.

we might as well just go back to 1600's and hang people because we think they're evil. screw fair trials and evidence, everyone has it all figured out on what happened so fck the legal process.

How? The jury was sequestered. The jury obviously made their decision based on the evidence, not the public. If it was based on the public, she'd have been found guilty.

judge shoulda put in a condition that if they find her not guilty they would have to let her babysit their children for a month.

i bet they woulda returned a completely different verdict.
