Atlanta Looks Like A Major Threat For World Series Run

    This team has buried me
I keep fading and they keep pitching well and hitting good

My odds for them to go to World Series is +150

I dunno sir, I like Philly and Milwaukee better then them. IMO Milwaukee's offense is better, and starting pitching is about even. Atlanta has the better bullpen.
This is even assuming Atalnta makes the playoffs.

Living and growing up in Atlanta I can tell you that the Braves have broke my heart too many times. They will get to the playoffs and look like the favorite only to lose in the first round or get swept in the World Series.

I hope you're right JJ. I'd like another World Series just don't see it happening.

ATL would be a threat if they can sign another big name hitter, maybe 2 actually.

They need another big bat in the lineup. Thing is, Atlanta hasn't been remotely healthy all season.

What the Braves really need is for Uggla to step up and hit like he is capable of hitting. He is an out at the plate almost 80% of the time. That just kills a team for a hitter in the middle of the lineup, batting a majority of the time with runners on, to continually get out. Heyward is another, but he is young and has been injured a majority of the year. However, don't be surprised if this kid doesn't heat up in the second half of the season. Freeman is another to watch out for. That kid can play!

Don't know where you got this one. The Brewers have Marcum and Greinke and who else? Braves have Hudson, Hanson, Jurjens, Beachy, and even Lowe can throw a good game most of the time.

Braves are looking into hunter pence. If we land him, it would be over for the phillies.

Underrated, how do you figure? I think most people have them where they belong, second behind the Phillies in the NL East.

phillies dont have the talent like the braves do. if chipper gets fully healed, uggla starts playing baseball, and heyward pulls out of this slump they are unstoppable

Braves have a good shot IMO. Phillies are overrated...wait until they go on one of those horrible hitting slumps.

Braves' fan here.....Amazing they are 10 over .500 with the underwhelming hitting. Chipper will have nagging injuries until he retires....it's called being 39. Prado is a key....as is Heyward. They've gone on a 12-5 run with very little if anything from those two. If Uggla can finish the year at .220, he would have had a successful 2nd half of the season, that's how buried he is right now. I like Schafer....even though he's only hitting about .230, he's been getting on base and giving them the speed element they haven't had.

Starting pitching is deep. Braves have top 2 in NL ERA. All five of their pitchers could be at least number 2 starters for most teams (minus Philly, SF, Boston)....maybe not Lowe but he is a money player...was great last year in September & playoffs. Bullpen is deep and good.

Bottom line is they will have to win the wildcard and if they do they will have a hard time mustering any runs in the playoffs. For some reason, their offense has historically struggled in post-season, even back when they had Sheffield, Chipper & Andrew in their prime, Javy Lopez having a career year, they still could not do much in post season.

Are you seriously going to try and educate me about the braves after I've been following them for 15 years and watch them day in an day out?? Seriously, just stop talking. At least come up with a valid reason.

If teams can't get a lead against Atlanta by 6th inning the game is over for them. Atlanta has the best 7,8,9 inning pitching in MLB.

Braves fan here. This team irritates me to no end. It's amazing that they are where they are at with their lack of hitting. As for Hunter Pence, his career #'s are not going to win a world series alone, but as long as Prado is out, they could definitely use his bat. Just curious as to who would get the ax from the starting lineup. I suppose that they could try out Prado at short. I don't see them sitting Shafer or Heyward.

Pence's offensive #'s would be #1 across the board for the braves (avg, hr, rbi). I wouldn't be crazy about sending another one of the top prospects away. I get sick imagining what the braves could do with Andrus, Neftali Feliz and even Matt Harrison maybe in long relief this year.

Atlanta shortens the game. If they get a hitter on Pence's level it helps tremendously. Chipper is still one of the best clutch players in the recent history of baseball.

NATIONAL LEAGUE SUCKS THE BRAVES DONT HAVE ANY OFFENSE AT ALL IN THE PLAYOFFS YOU HAVE TO SCORE SOME RUNS.

AMERICAN LEAGUE IS A CINCH TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY LOUSY TEAMS LIKE THEY HAVE IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE
