    Flight to Argentina got cancelled so im stucked in houston and I booked a $100 room and I saw it was 117 I was shocked lady at the counter its because of the shitty sports teams then i told her the Mavs just won the championship LOL

    Yep the hotel and rental car taxes here are outrageous - paying for all those bond issues. Heck right down the road from me is a $115 million HIGH SCHOOL sports complex!

    Texas has a state hotel tax rate of 6 percent. The city of Houston imposes an additional 7 percent tax. Harris County taxes hotel stays at 2 percent, and another 2 percent is added by the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority tax. That totals a 17 percent hotel tax in the city.
