I went into my bank today (Bank of Montreal) and they told me that they charge $5.00 to cash a cheque and it would take 30 days to clear.

has anyone every tried cashing a betjam cheque with bmo?
this seems pretty rediculos to me

would it be worth it to pay the 3% rate and go to a check cashing place?(moneymart, cash4you etc)

    thanks for your answers
