why is being a pro such a big deal?

you know that sbr gets all the personal info, percentage of player losses etc... if one goes pro right?

I personally dont mind it...but some people do mind it.....and lakerboy is one of them.

Its not just about posting measly $200 in a book...most of the newbies here dont understand what going "pro" means.

That is the common excuse of one who doesn't have $200 dollars to put into an SBR book. They don't take your personal information when you create a new account at a sponsored book. They get your personal information when you sign up to post at this site. They use the 200 dollar sign up to show that they are competent enough to gather enough players to make that banner at the top of the site profitable. Stop being so paranoid.

So, are you saying that SBR doesnt get x% of the PRO players losses?...if you dont know this, then you have no clue.

Ok, let me get this straight. The 200 I deposited at a book I have never once deposited in since they are making money on? Secondly, because you're losing anyway, why not give the money to the site in which you post on in which you leech off by posting there to receive "free" points to be redeemed for merchandise, just posting on a forum you were posting at when you weren't compensated at all? Do you realize how ignorant your statement sounds?

LB wins. More times than not a play he posts in PT or a sub-forum hits.

All the drama is just background music.

It's not $200 at a current book though -- it's $200 into a new book from a short list SBR has compiled. I have accounts at all of the books on their list I want to be at, but not all of the books on the list. Why join a new, shitty book that I have no interest in playing at just to be an SBR pro?

If I had to guess, I say about only 10% of SBR posters are regular nickel and dime players and Lakerkid ain't one of them. Dude's been here 3 years, and he has yet to show one big ticket winning or losing like JJ Gold, Paco, Iwnimoney, Pimike, and a few others that post plays in the past. So he must always win then right

There are certain books -- like Bet365 for instance -- that I would consider opening an account at if SBR had them on the list, but they don't.

I have accounts at 5Dimes, Bookmaker, RebateWager, Legends, BetJam, Bodog, BOL, Greek and SIA. I can't do Pinny or William Hill.

I have zero interest in any of the others. If I'm missing the boat with one, please let me know.

Dont deviate from the original topic....the FACT is SBR gets a cut from PRO players losses. Just because you didnt reload doesn't mean other poster dont.

As to using SBR for points...thats the CHOICE of the poster...SBR gets ads based on numbers....more the number of people in SBR, more ad revenue. Points is a method to attract posters. Non-pros dont get the same number of points daily anyway.

SBR implemented the point system....posters like lakerboy didnt ask for it...SBR did it for their ad revenue.

As to which poster goes pro...its his fukking decision....he can choose to give x% of the losses to SBR. Nobody has the right to judge his decision.

Just because lakerboy doesnt want to give x% of his losses to SBR, doesnt mean he does not have $200....and it also doesnt mean he is air-betting.

Most newbies here have no clue about what going PRO means. The fact is each poster has his choice....and not going pro doent mean he doent have $200. Every person has his reason. Lakerboy probably knows these things and doesnt want to give his pinnacle info. Not a big deal. But just harassing him on the same topic is plain stupid.

I guess I don't understand why it has to be a new account.

Well, I do -- but it shouldn't be that way. I have all the on-line accounts I need at this point -- zero reason to add another one to the list.

I love this excuse for people who have been around long enough to where this rule wasn't in effect. When pro status started you just had to have $200 in a book, so it wasn't much of a hassle.

To be honest, when the SBR "pro" system came out, I didn't even bother to see what it did or didn't require. I just didn't care that much.

Then all of the sudden, I started seeing threads about having to join a new book from an SBR list. That's really the first time I even paid attention to it -- basically because I realized I couldn't cash my points in for free plays (the only thing I've ever even used them for -- I don't gamble them) anymore without the Pro status.

I guess it's my fault for not paying attention, but isn't everyone going to have to join a new book to re-up anyway?

They think its just getting more points daily

I'll admit I don't know the intimate details or the requirements it entails.
