I have a 1997 pontiac grandprix gt. I need the head and intake gaskets replaced, does anyone know what would be a fair price if I took it to a garage??

I could if I wanted but I like this car. I've had no problems in the 6 years I've had it except this.

Well I may not need both gaskets, but was given an estimate of $800 (parts & labor) if both gaskets are bad.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across harsh. If it's still in great shape, then cool.

Didn't know if it was a vehicle that if you filled 'er up with a tank of gas the value doubled.

    Good luck bro

Sounds like a fair price. If you look under the hood of that thing you will notice half the shit under the hood will have to be removed to get to the head gasket. If it was just the intake it would be way cheaper, but chances are you need both, I would def replace both.
I would also get them to do a waterpump, thermostat while they are in there, would not hurt , and would be less than $100 extra labor, but could save in long run.
