why should it matter if they like hockey soccer cricket etc. the sports arent going anywhere. i kinda like feeling that soccer is kinda "my own" game and that its not popular. popularity turns the games into shows like the nfl that become a 16 week soap opera above all else. even though im a big fan, this cheapens the game to some degree for me. soccer will never be popular in america because of an inferiority complex since ALL of the best players are not americans. hockey will never be popular in the USA due to climate issues for the majority of the country and because of an inferiority complex to some degree.
the games will be around regardless, so just enjoy and dont hope for something thats not gonna happen.
