Do sportsbooks consider betting "steam" unethical?

Today i noticed that the redsox/twins line jumped from 9 to over 9.5( -110) at most books but my book still had the number at over 9-120.

i obviously hammered the over 9 for two reasons

    1. beating the closing line at pinnacle and five dimes is definetly +ev

    2. heavy money was bet on the over in small amount of time, i was happy to be on that side

do books frown upon my action?

Some take it hard because they think steam chasers know what books are rec or not. A good rec book doesn't take it to hart and considers risk mgt part of overhead. You'll never get a call from a company like Bodog wanting to discuss your action and make you promise not to bet prop scalps or nba moving hlvs.

Bodog sends an email telling you your prop or half limits are now $50.

Greek will call/email to discuss action all the time and they are a "pro" book.
