Obviously I am a fan of the Flyers, they have been my team since I was 8 years old.
But, what I am about to say comes from my brain and my 16 years experience with the Flyers, not my heart.
Game one each team matched up on defense. Game two each team matched up on offense. Game three we saw each team mix the offense and defensive game and the Flyers came out on top. And it was a very good game played by the Flyers, even with starting Boucher. Yes Boucher gave up a weak goal to Gerbe BUT he is a Vet and he has the mental power to keep it going in the playoffs, the guy has been around this league for over 10 years now. He knows what it takes to win.
The Flyers are the deepest team all around, offense, defense and goaltending. The Sabres are a solid team but they are not ready for a playoff run. With Derek Roy and Kaleta injured it is going to be very tough for the Sabres to beat the Flyers here on out.
Flyers make their opponents work for their wins. They play a very good defensive game causing frustration on the other team which eventually leads to a turnover and that is when the Flyers capitalize and take the lead in games. And the Sabres are FULL of turnovers and mistakes in their own zone and the neutral zone.
I have been watching the Flyers like I said my whole life practically, and when this team is confident they are a very scary team, at least in the East they are. And after that BIG win in game three, I can almost guarantee you this teams confidence is through the roof.
I have not mentioned Pronger because they are playing great without him, players like Couborn and Timmonen are coming through for them. Now if they had Pronger in the lineup the powerplay would be un-stoppable, but in good time he will return just making it even harder for the Sabres to win a game over the Flyers.
Sabres make way too many mistakes throughout the game, and I am very shocked on how many people were expecting the Sabres to advance. (I think it was to sell tickets, because of the new ownership, and that whole hockey day in America stuff that went on earlier in the season). Mistakes will only lead to a first round exit in the NHL playoffs.
Flyers +110 (is the bet of the day in hockey)
