Each week people on here congregate looking for a certain winner...nothing is ever certain but I have a game that I have not been more confident in for quite some time...

Nebraska -20 over SDSU

South Dakota State comes into the game as the 6th ranked FCS school in the most recent poll and they also bring a stud RB by the name of Zach Zenner... They are 3-0 on the season and looking to shock the world... In fact they truly believe they have Nebraska right where they want them...

All week Nebraska has been dealing with a media circus regarding its coach who had an expletive ridden tirade secretly taped 2 years ago that was released after his teams collapse against UCLA. The national media blew it way out of proportion but things have settled down in Lincoln.

Also in the Jackrabbits favor is QB Taylor Martinez will not play for Nebraska this week... He is suffering from severe turf toe and will make way for red shirt frosh QB Tommy Armstrong.

So Hotlanta... why they heck are we betting on a Nebraska team that gave up 38 straight unanswered points to UCLA last week... let alone bet on them to cover 3 TDS?

The answer is football and physics... Very few will question Nebraska's offensive fire power and running game. They have 3 stellar RBs and 3 stellar WRs... They also possess a 300+lb senior led offensive line who will out-man SDSUs front by 50+ lbs.

Nebraska with a youngling under center is going to stop outsmarting itself with play calling and simply run the ball right at the Jackrabbits. Armstrong is Nebraska's future and from all accounts is less turnover prone than Martinez. With Nebraska keeping it simple with quick WR screens and power running of Abdullah and Cross look for Nebraska to score on every first half possession.

On the defensive side of the ball... Nebraska has shown some flashes of talent and flashes of utter ineptitude. UCLA exploited the biggest problem with a Bo Pelini defense last week... the inability to account for both the QB scramble and a 3rd WR or TE over the middle at the same time by the nickel and dime backers... The only issue is you have to have a mobile QB to exploit it...SDSU does not have that in QB Austin Sumner.

When the QB is not a mobile threat Bo Pelini's defenses have come up with their best performances over the past 5 years because it allows their secondary to turn their backs in coverage and allows the middle D tackles to push forward and collapse the pocket without fear of abandoning a QB running lane.... Look for Sumner to have a long day in the passing game with mutiple sacks and hurries from DEs Gregory and Moss

The fact is Nebraska is not nearly as bad as people think... they were smacked down by a very very good UCLA team last week in a weird second half that saw Nebraska catch absolutely no breaks.. This is a complete over correction on the line with Martinez absence, Nebraska's turmoil combined and the FCS success this year against FBS teams...

Nebraska players love their coach and are going to show that today with a big time effort before next weeks Bye week... look for a 55-10 game and thank me later..
