I just can't understand why people keep saying it's a soft schedule but we are ready to hand the SB to Denver who has had a even softer schedule.

Just poking around you know who had a hard schedule? JAGS 9 of their games were playoff teams and the others were tough. Weakest team they played was Tenn and they beat them once.
According to 2012 wins and losses (108-148), ATL had the softest schedule in the NFL this year. Lions and AZ had the toughest, JAX tied at #3. http://nfltraderumors.co/2012-nfl-strength-of-schedule/

Even according to 2011 wins and losses (125-131), ATL had the 7th easiest schedule going into this season. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/po...th-of-schedule

They only played 2 playoff teams, DEN and WAS, and both of them were early, they played their best at the end.

Granted, ATL can only play teams on their schedule, but it does leave the question open to how good they really are.
