If gore had stolen the election from bush we would be in way worse shape then we are already, obama is doing his best to catch up though. We were prosperous under bush till the dems took over congress in 2006 and ruined us. The everlasting image of George W's reign is him standing on a aircraft carrier with the words Mission Accomplished overhead. That was before the surge and is clearly an indication on how out of touch Bush and Cheney were. I doubt Gore would have taken the US down that path.
