Running back Ricky Williams has agreed to a contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens announced the deal on Monday, pending Williams passing a physical Tuesday.
Williams agreed a two-year deal worth $2.5 million with some escalators that could make the contract worth $4 million total, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. In Baltimore he will back up starting running back Ray Rice.
Williams' signing in Baltimore was first reported by ProFootballTalk.com. He will help fill a void in the Ravens backfield created by the departures of Willis McGahee and Le'Ron McClain.

NFL Transactions Analysis

The 34-year-old Williams has 9,565 yards rushing in 131 career games. In 2010, he rushed for 673 yards while sharing carries for the Miami Dolphins with Ronnie Brown.
Brown has signed with the Eagles for the 2011 season.

Williams had been with the Dolphins since 2002, longer than any other player on the roster. His longevity is a surprise considering he retired for a season in 2004 and played in only one NFL game in 2006-07, when he served a suspension for violating the league's drug program.
In 2009, Williams took over full-time running back duties after Brown suffered an injury and finished with 1,121 yards, his highest total since 2003.
