Who will GB host for the week 1 "Thursday night kickoff game".

It hasn't been announced yet, but I'm guessing Saints @ Packers would be the most intriguing option, pitting the two most recent Super Bowl champions.

But here are the teams GB is scheduled to play next year:

    Bears, Vikings, Lions
    Falcons, Saints, Bucs, Panthers
    Rams, Giants
    Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Broncos

Patriots. So Pakcers get their revenge w/ Aaron Rodgers at the helm.

They would have won against them in the reg season had Aaron not been concussed.

Non of the above....they won't actually be playing week 1. Lockout is coming. We won't see football till October.

WTF?????? Since they don't play the Pats, I'm guessing there's no chance. For ratings purposes I lean towards the Bears, however the Saints should be a hell of a game.

You also have to remember that half of the games listed are away games. I believe the Packers play @ Atlanta again next year.

My bad. Packers are indeed @ Atlanta this year.

Home games: Bears, Vikings, Lions, Saints, Bucs, Broncos, Chiefs

I'm not sure about the Rams and Giants games.

Yep. No hype needed. Old time rivals in a NFC Championship Game rematch. Lock it up.

I definitely look forward to GB & Chicago going at it again next year, but GB Beat the Bears twice in their 7 game "playoffs", I'm just kinda burned out on that matchup right away. We never got to see GB play NO during that run, that would've been an interesting matchup.

I would enjoy a rematch with the patriots. It was an incredible game and I'm sure the pack would like another shot with Rodgers at the helm.

jhack704, where are you getting your information?

Doing a search, I can only find the 16 games, I can't find the home/away of each one. I've been trying to go by previous schedules to try to understand the formula. Based on 2003 and 2007, I still think the Chiefs are @ GB next year because it was KC @ GB in 2003 and GB @ KC in 2007. It seems like it goes back and forth every 4 years when they play, so it makes sense that it will be KC @ GB in 2011.

If Favre comes out of retirement then it is a lock they'll play the Vikings. However, a rematch of NFC Champ. Game is probably most attractive match-up.

This make sense considering the Bears lost 2 out of 3 to the Pack.

I'm showing the Packers home schedule as Vikings, Bears, Lions, Saints, Seahawks, Bucs, Broncos and Chiefs. It seems like there are really only 2 choice for a marquee matchup and that would be the Saints or Bears. I seem to remember the Giants opening against the Redskins a few years back, so they do indeed play divisional games on the opening night.

Like to see them play the Giants so the Packers can thank them for the debacle against Philly, that started Greenbays run to the playoffs

Giants would be sweet. The NFL needs to expand the playoffs to 16 teams because the Giants won it with a 10-6 record.
