Teams need a top 10 (likely higher) quarterback to win the Superbowl now. The Seahawks do not have one. Hasselbeck (if he's even their QB next year) won't be able to trip into a ring because he doesn't have a defense to Dilfer his way through the playoffs.

I tried to sywpe-text "Seahawks" into my phone. It recognized the word as "Seahorses".

From now on, the Seahawks are the Seahorses

They were 104/1 just a couple days ago...consider this a bargain.

    Awesome description.

Hasselback has to win his teams games. Dilfer just didnt have to **** it up.

Seattle could stumble into the playoffs again next year in the still weak NFC West.

One thing, wasn't Seattle getting around 100 to 1 at the start of the playoffs THIS year? Save the money and bet it if they get there again.

    Matt Hasselback is injury prone.

The Chiefs, Bucs and Texans have a better chance to get to the Super Bowl than the Seahawks.

I think its about right might be worth a couple bucks, I have surely seen worse bets. In a very very bad division and once you make the playoffs anything can happen, but believe SF and St. Louis will be much inproved

It's not worth it. Even if they make the playoffs (unlikely), the odds will still be crazy so you even won't be able to hedge.

If Seattle was available at -8500 NOT to win the Super Bowl, you wouldn't bet one red cent on it and if you did then you're a fool.

Even with interest rates being as low as they are currently, you can still get 1% interest in financial institutions far more safe than an online sportsbook.

"Only if I could play the 1/85 odds" - Definitely deserves to be nominated for the most asinine post of the year award

I would. Sounds like a lock of the Century type bet.

If I could get "no one from the NFC West deserves a spot in the playoffs" odds I would lay a large chunk of change on it too.

It would be interesting to see if Seattle goes after ex USC QB Carson Palmer, he wants to be traded and I am sure Pete Carrol would like to have him

Yes. I'd hammer that 85-1 if they got Palmer.

Hasselbeck isn't terrible, it's just that he'll be 36 years old. Then again, he used to back up Favre so maybe he got some longevity secrets from him.

of course imo w/ Harbargh(sp) you can add 2-4 wins witch would have ur suckhawks sitting and watching but the way there season will go nxt yr they might not want to watch any football until 2012 and will be wishing the world ends earlier then dec.

Division is so bad...they only need 3 big wins. Worth 5 dollars to me. Rams won it at 150 to 1

Yeah they are that bad, but anything can happen and liek someone said, in the NFC west it doesn't take much to get to the playoffs, then its just a few lucky wins and boom. You got yourself one hell of a hedge.

I'd like to see it happen, but it's highly unlikely. Let's face it, Matt Hasselbeck is washed up. He may not even be their quarterback next season. They have no running game whatsoever. Their defense is awful. They have so many issues to address, I wouldn't know where to start. How they even made the playoffs is beyond me. Even if they somehow make the playoffs again, I can't see them going into Green Bay, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Atlanta, or whoever they have to play and beating those teams in the playoffs. I wouldn't even take them at 85/1.
