Very tough day in the NFL tomorrow, with so many scenarios and injuries/healthy sits due to the playoffs. I've been scouring the message board, blogs, websites to make sure we don't miss anything as bettors heading into the final Sunday of the regular season. I'll be updated this thread tonight (Saturday) as news comes in and also all Sunday morning after Pre-Game warmups and final decisions are made on players, healthy and not.
Points appreciated for the effort and I hope everyone kills those books one final time before playoffs!!
Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots (-5, 43.5)
Miami: Fasano OUT, Dansby OUT
New England: Brace placed on IR and OUT, Connolly Questionable, Hernandez Questionable
New England has nothing to play for and I wouldn't expect Brady to play very much, regardless of what he's been saying in the media. Looks like Brady will start the game, probably play to halftime and give way to Hoyer in the second half. New England has clinched the #1 seed in the AFC and home-field throughout the playoffs.
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets (-1, 39.5)
Buffalo: Fitzpatrick Questionable and game-time decision
NY Jets: Woody OUT, Ellis Questionable, Pryce Questionable, Cromartie and Revis both Questionable and they could very well sit (another game-time decision)
The Jets have locked up a playoff spot and are playing for nothing Sunday vs. the Bills. Rumors are that Tomlinson will give way to Greene to rest his old legs, but the decision will be made Sunday morning. Rex Ryan hasn't decided on Sanchez yet, but people close to the Jets expect Sanchez to start.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens (-10, 43)
Cincinnati: TO/Ochocinco OUT, Gresham Questionable
Baltimore: Heap Questionable
Baltimore has clinched a playoff berth, but can win the AFC North with a win and Pittsburgh loss. Nothing much going on here, but looks like Baltimore is pretty healthy and will be looking to shut down Benson and the reeling Bengals.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-5, 37.5) @ Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh: Polamalu Questionable and Harrison Questionable (Ill), both will be game-time decisions.
Cleveland: Rogers Questionable and Hillis Questionable (game-time decision)
Pittsburgh has already clinched a playoff berth and can secure the AFC North title with a win or Baltimore loss. Very important to check the injury updates in this game, as it doesn't look promising for Peyton Hillis. If he doesn't play, it could be a long day for Colt McCoy.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans (-3, 45.5)
Jacksonville: Garrard and Jones-Drew both OUT
Houston: Andre Johnson ruled OUT and needs surgery
Another intriguing game here, as Jax is without it's two best playmakers and in a must-win situation. Jax needs to win and have Indy lose to clinch a playoff spot and the AFC South title. One interesting note to this game: Coach Kubiak believes it's "very important" that Arian Foster keeps his 56-yard lead for the rushing title and this could alter his game plan, especially with AJ being ruled out. Seems like he's going to put an emphasis on the run and make sure Foster gets his touches.
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts (-9.5, 47.5)
Tennessee: No major injuries
Indianapolis: Freeney and Mathis both ready to go, Jeff Saturday Questionable
Pretty simple here: Indy at home and needs a win or Jax loss to clinch playoff berth and AFC South title. Should be interesting to see what happens to Jeff Fisher if the Titans decide to lay an egg in this inter-division game.
Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5, 43.5)
Oakland: McFadden Questionable, Seymour Questionable and both game-time decisions
Kansas City: No major injuries
With Kansas City already locked into their playoff spot, might see limited action from Cassel and Bowe. Assuming the Chiefs are going to give the Raiders a heavy dose of Jamaal Charles as he's in the hunt for the NFL rushing title. Raiders trying to finish 8-8 and end this season on a high note after what is being considered a successful season from the Black and Silver.
Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles (-3, 43)
Dallas: Kitna Questionable (more like Doubtful)
Philadelphia: Vick Questionable (more like Doubtful), Jackson and Samuel Questionable and game time decisions
News out of Dallas is that McGee will get his first career NFL start against Philadelphia as Kitna is battling some sort of rib/side injury. McGee is also playing for the back-up role next year behind Romo. All signs pointing to Kolb starting for the Eagles, as he took all the first-team snaps on Friday. The Eagles are locked into their playoff spot and might rest Jackson and Samuel tomorrow, have to make sure to check the updates tomorrow morning.
New York Giants (-4, 44) @ Washington Redskins
NY Giants: Nicks OUT, O'Hara OUT, Tollefson OUT
Washington: Hall Questionable (Ill), Torain Questionable and a game-time decision
Giants need a win and GB loss to clinch a playoff berth, but both games start at 4:15, so no big changes will come before kickoff. If Torain can't go for Washington, they'll have a very hard time moving the ball against the Giants, even though the Giants D looked terrible vs. Green Bay last week. Giants turn the ball over way too much and now have the back-up center handling the snaps, we'll see how that works out.
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions (-3, 42.5)
Minnesota: Favre OUT, Rice Doubtful, Peterson playing
Detroit: Calvin Johnson Questionable, didn't practice Friday buy says he's playing
Joe Webb will most likely be starting again for the Vikings after Favre failed his neuro-test the other day. Vikings trying to figure out if Webb is the real deal at QB and will have a near healthy Peterson running the ball.
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers (-10, 41.5)
Chicago: No major injuries
Green Bay: No major injuries
A lot at stake here for both teams. Green Bay needs a win (or NY and TB losses) to clinch a playoff spot, while the Bears are looking to secure home-field throughout the playoffs. They're already clinched a first-round bye after the Eagles lost on Tuesday night. Rodgers is playing and took all the snaps this week at practice.
Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons (-14, 41)
Carolina: Gamble OUT, Steve Smith Questionable
Atlanta: Roddy White and John Abraham Probable
This will be the last game for John Fox as the Panthers head coach, so we'll probably see some inspired play which will still not be enough to beat the Falcons in the dome. Atlanta can still clinch the #1 seed in the NFC with a win (or NOR and Chi loss) as Matt Ryan looks to continue his dominance at home.
Tampa Bay Bucs @ New Orleans Saints (-9, 46.5)
Tampa Bay: Winslow Probable
New Orleans: Colston, Shockey, Thomas all Questionable and game-time decisions
Fresh off a huge MNF win, the Saints look to win the AFC South with a win and Atlanta loss. Pierre Thomas tweeked his oft-injured ankle on Friday and appeared on the latest injury report. Ivory and Bush will both be playing, so the Saints backfield won't be totally depleted. Knowing Thomas, he'll probably play - usually a trooper. Tampa Bay needs a win and some help to make the playoffs and will need another big game out of Freeman if they want to beat the Saints in New Orleans.
San Diego Chargers (-3.5, 47) @ Denver Broncos
San Diego: Cooper, Gates, Tolbert all OUT, Crayton Doubtful and Floyd Probable
Denver: Champ Bailey, Dawkins, Moreno and Royal all Questionable and game time decisions
With Kyle Orton still banged up, Tim Tebow will get the final start of the regular season for the Broncos. Both teams are playing for nothing, but it's still an inter-division game and should be a good battle in Denver. If Bailey and Dawkins are out, we could see Rivers have a monster game vs. the weak Broncos D.
Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers (-6, 39)
Arizona: Porter Doubtful
San Francisco: Willis OUT
San Francisco will go with Alex Smith in the final game of this disappointing season that cost Mike Singletary his job. There is nothing to talk about here, but two teams that are going through the motions and looking ahead to 2011.
St Louis Rams (-3, 41) @ Seattle Seahawks
St Louis: No major injuries
Seattle: Tatupu Probable, Hasselback Questionable and game time decision
The final regular season game of the season is a "winner take all" battle in Seattle. What's at stake is the NFC West title and the #4 seed in the playoffs. Win or go home. St Louis is ready to go as rookie Bradford tries to lead the Rams to the playoffs after very solid play. Seattle tries to get head coach Pete Carroll to the playoffs in his first season in the upper northwest, but there are QB issues that need to be solved by 8pm tomorrow night. Matt Hasselback is making great strides with his injury and feels good enough to play, but Carroll has stuck to his guns and said they're going into Sunday with Charlie Whitehurst. Hasselback practiced Friday and reported no abnormal problems. Very important to check back with this game, as it's been flexed to the national TV game.
