The Falcons hired Patriots director of college scouting Thomas Dimitroff to be their next general manager.
Dimitroff was with the Patriots for six seasons and reported directly to Scott Pioli. He's known for his scouting acumen, but it's surprising that he got the nod over an experienced candidate like Tom Heckertt. This hire will invite speculation that Dimitroff could make a run at Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels at the end of the playoffs. Jan. 12 - 4:52 pm et
