What is the advantage to reverse bets over straight bets?

What is the advantage to reverse bets? I have read the definition of reverse bets 15 times, I just don't get it.

Here is something to use as an example.

    Monday night I bet
    $1500 on the Redskins +7
and $1500 on Redskins Eagles UNDER 39

Can someone explain to me why betting this as a reverse bet would have been better? I just don't see it myself. Someone posted in another thread that they had "cleaned up using reverse bets". I just don't see how reverse bets help you "clean up".

basically if both bets win you get 4 times the wager.
if they split , it is the wager and double juice
both lose it is 2 times the wager

    example
if win Cleveland +7 with Washington +6.5

if win Washington +6.5 with Clevand +7

    2 seperate if bets.

CAn you show me the difference between the 4 outcomes straight bet vs reverse?
    Washington +7 bet $1650 to win $1500
Washington Philly UNDER 39 bet $1650 to win $1500

    1. Both win Win $3000
    2. Washington +7 wins, UNDER loses lose $150
    3. UNDER wins, Washington +7 loses lose $150
    4. Both lose lose $3300

What happens in each of 1-4 above with a reverse bet?

    both win +6000
    both lose -3300
    split -1800
    win/push +3000
    loss/push -3300
    push/push 0

reverse is useful to get more money down with less bankroll. Both reverses and if bets are great for circumventing limits, I had 10 if bets on Cubs/Cincy under even though my limit was $500 I could get over 5 dimes down.
