I seem to remember somebody on this forum saying that
dogs should be given much consideration in the NFL, can't remember exactly who.

I would like to relate an interesting story. In all my years of taking action and I don't anymore. I never, ever remember all the favs covering on a full schedule day. Meaning a regular Sunday. But, I do know for certain that all the dogs did cover on a full schedule Sunday at least once. I was looking at the sheet and just couldn't believe it.

Great day for dog teaser's. Only lose two I believe.

Without sounding like a wise guy and believe me I am not a wise guy. But, I do have experience in this game. I know how very difficult it is to pull the trigger on NFL dogs.

I was almost throwing up when I was making my plays today.
Cleveland, oh my God. Houston, Geez. SF, Oh no.
Atlanta, are you kidding me. Arizona, gag. Oakland, never.
K City. Well you get the idea.

You just have to be seasoned and hold your nose and do it.
At the end of the day on a huge majority of Sunday's you will
either win or not lose much. Not many days that dog players
get killed in the NFL. It happens, but not as often as fav players want to blow their brains out.

This advise comes from 40 some years of watching these
    games.

    Doc

I wish I could tell you the Sunday when all the chalk lost.
But, I can't. It did happen and it was quite a while ago.
If I had to guess I would say between 18 and 20 years ago.
Maybe, some stat freak has that info or can find it.

Don't be so hard on the guy. He is only playing 15 years.
I think most players have to see it for about 20 before they
catch on. But, just when they are about to believe the
favs have a decent year and it takes them another 15 or 20
to buy it. By that time they are bankrupt. (lol)

Believe me I will fire on dogs if I think it's the right play, but in all honesty, I was comfortable with my thought process for this weekends games. If I had to make the same picks tomorrow, I'd probably only change one play.

I've been around 31 years and seen this many times. I took all 5 dogs getting double digits. You will win in the long run with them. Anything over 7 is a winning proposition in the NFL.

Those damn small favorites bit me in the butt though.

    Craz

Like I said in an earlier post in this thread. It takes some guts to pull the trigger on most dogs. They hardly ever look good. I have an instinctive feeling that when I like an NFL dog that is the time to be careful. haha

Take a look at the dogs today, my God. I think the Cinn game was something like 10-1 in wagers on the chalk.

And then in the late games it was looking like the chalk was going to make a comeback. It didn't happen.

I bet some favs in the NFL but it is rare and it must be what I consider a huge mismatch. I find excuses to play the dog, just like I would say many players do.

Isn't that funny. I generally like the small dogs better
than the large dogs. Just a difference in what we
    believe I guess

i did take dogs...houston GB atlanta...

but i can't see how before the game anyone was able to take cleveland. can anyone that took it explain the reasoning behind it. mind you it didn't matter if cinci was overhyped which most ppl knew it was. it was just that browns sucks so much (or supposbly were supposed to) that it didn't matter how well cinci played

I played the Bengals however was aware that the Bowns could cover as the Bengals D sucks.

They just got lucky against the Ravens week 1. Also the Browns pass D I have now downgraded. If you have a D you will always take these browns.

If you are a off team like Bengals you give them a chance.

it was a very brave play which I would never had made but i can understand it.
