The Year's First - WHY THE CRAP IS REX GROSSMAN IN THE NFL?? Thread

Seriously. The Bears can contend with anyone at QB that doesn't just kill the team... ala Rex.
    Discuss.
I'm on San Diego, but I hate seeing wasted potential.
Bears have enough D to go far again this year.

Agreed, based on that 1st half performance, Grossman has to go.

I'll be the first one to jump all over Grossman trust me, but I'm not doing it after a half of play against the Charger's D at home.

    Griese? Ortman?

My dad has been calling for Griese since early last season, lmao.

Personally, if I was Chicago's HC, I'd suck it up and stick with Grossy. He's playing one of the elite NFL defenses today. I'm not a huge Griese fan.

    Fair points boys.

But you know this ain't the first time with this guy, and you know for DAMN sure it won't be the last. Given the standard of defense they can play, they need someone to put the points on the board.

There's not a ton of top notch NFL QBs just sitting on the shelf. I still say that Grossman is the 2nd coming of Jim Harbaugh. He'll probably have his best success after he craps out in Chicago. Chicago seems to be a meat grinder for QBs. It's as much a problem with the franchise as anything, IMO.

You can't get worse than Rex. He's horrible.
Orton won't throw picks and Griese is a vet now (albeit a sucky one).

Orton basically just handed the ball off. Granted he was a rookie when he was a starter with a abbreviated game plan. He may have developed more game since then. But that remains to be seen.

Griese, I'd put him around par with someone like Drew Bledsoe. Bledsoe retired, because he saw the writing on the wall. Griese is happy to hold a clipboard, I guess. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Sadly, Grossman gives Chicago the best chance to win a Super Bowl. Sure, Chicago coulda went after Trent Green or Matt Shaub, but that's not what Chicago does. They want to win with QBs like Jim McMahon.

Oh yeah, Chicago could've acquired McCown, maybe. Last year, I ranked McCown slightly ahead of Grossman. McCown looking good for the Raiders today.
