You’ve probably heard that Andy Reid coached teams are quite good coming off a bye week. That is true, but just how good have his teams been? We take a look at his record after 12-14 days of rest and preparation from the sixth-winningest coach in NFL history.

Since he became a head coach in 1999, Reid has an amazing .844 winning percentage when given an extra week of preparation. You can check out the breakdown below.

Regular season: 21-3
Playoffs: 7-2
ATS Playoffs: 6-3
Overall: 28-5
ATS Overall: 22-11 destroyed raiders -9.5

In Reid’s four playoff games after a bye week with Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback, the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 and 3-1 against the spread. In those games they’ve averaged 33.75 points and allowed 20.25 points per game. Overall with Mahomes, Reid is 7-0 after a bye and 4-3 against the spread.

Reid has enough of a sample size here for his post-bye wins not to be random variation. He also is a coach with a strong record in all situations. But there is no doubt that his .844 winning percentage after a bye is still a big jump from his all-time winning percentage of .623.
