If Foles plays very well in the Superbowl and wins it, trade Wentz to an AFC team for two 1st-round picks and one 2nd-round pick. Use those picks to build around Foles.
Wentz is coming off ACL injury, those are unpredictable. In particular his evasiveness was a major strength. If he comes back from it and plays just as well as before, at least he's not in the NFC.
This is a safe choice. The Browns are the best target to trade to.. And as cynical as it may be, hope for Hue to screw up Wentz so badly he'll no longer be good.
You could absolutely fleece a team like the Browns out of their two 1st-round picks.
Foles gives the Eagles a better chance of winning SuperBowl 53 than does Wentz since Wentz will be recovering, and Foles offers very good team chemistry and familiarity. Win a 2nd superbowl in a row, or shoot for long-term stability? Foles with two 1st-round picks has a higher chance of winning the next superbowl.
Wentz is not even guaranteed to fully recover. It ended RG3 and nearly ended Carson Palmer, some may say it took years for Palmer to return to form.
Easily could've fleeced the Browns out of two 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder, and had Hue destroy his career. Good luck getting that level for value out've Wentz now if the Eagles repeat. Cause now you don't have enough leverage to trade him wherever you want.
