i though some of you guys here might be interested in reading this. so, i figured i'd post it here for everyone.

Colorado at Texas

–Las Vegas Sports Consultants opened Texas as a 27 1/2-point ‘chalk’ over Colorado in the Big XII championship game at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. This matchup is scheduled to begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

–Colorado (7-4 straight up, 5-6 against the spread) backed into the Big XII title game by dropping its last two games both SU and ATS. The Buffaloes are in this spot after Iowa State fell to Kansas last weekend.

–Colorado was roughed up by rival Nebraska Nov. 25 as a decided 17-point home favorite, 30-3, while the combined 33 points went ‘under’ the 48 1/2-point closing total. The ‘over’ had occurred its previous two outings.

–The Buffaloes never recovered after allowing the Cornhuskers 17 points in the second quarter. Colorado finished the contest by trailing Nebraska in first downs (28-13), rushing yards (105-53), passing yards (392-159) and time of possession (38:03-21:57).

–Quarterback Joel Klatt was 20-of-40 passing for 159 yards with an interception, and running back Hugh Charles had 12 carries for 78 yards. Wideout Patrick Williams caught five passes for 30 yards, and Dusty Sprague nabbed five catches for 37 yards in the setback.

–Texas (11-0 SU, 9-2 ATS) remains on track for the Rose Bowl national championship game after holding off Texas A&M Nov. 25 as a 28-point road ‘chalk,’ 40-29. There was no total on that rivalry matchup.

–The Longhorns finished the contest trailing the Aggies in first downs (22-18), rushing yards (280-174) and time of possession (35:17-24:43), while leading in passing yards (162-118).

–Signal caller Vince Young had his Heisman Trophy dreams take a major hit, finishing the game completing 13-of-24 passes for 162 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Ramonce Taylor stepped up with 15 carries for 102 yards with two scores, and Henry Melton contributed three carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.

–Texas walloped Colorado Oct. 15 as a 16-point home favorite, 42-17, while the combined 59 points went ‘over’ the 53-point closing total. In fact, the Longhorns are 3-1 both SU and ATS the previous four encounters with the Buffaloes.

–Colorado offensive guard Jack Tipton is ‘questionable’ for this contest due to a knee injury. Texas has no major injuries to report for this contest.

**Army versus Navy**

–LVSC has Navy as a 6 1/2-point favorite over Army, with the total listed at 50. This contest at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET.

–Army (4-6 SU, 5-4 ATS) is riding a four-game SU and ATS winning streak heading into this contest after throttling Arkansas State Nov. 19 as a 10-point home ‘chalk,’ 38-10. There was no total on that game.

–The Black Knights jumped out to a 28-3 halftime advantage, and cruised to victory. Army finished the game by leading Arkansas State in first downs (18-16), rushing yards (300-165) and turnovers forced (3-1).

–Quarterback Zac Dahman was 5-of-10 passing for 77 yards with a touchdown, while Carlton Jones ran 29 times for 187 yards with two scores.

–Navy (6-4 SU, 7-3 ATS) has alternated SU wins and losses its last five games after beating Temple Nov. 19 as a 28-point home ‘chalk,’ 38-17. There was no total on that matchup.

–The Midshipmen broke open a tie game with three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Navy ended the game with advantages in first downs (27-26), rushing yards (375-136) and time of possession (31:16-28:44), while trailing in passing yards (245-120).

–Signal caller Lamar Owens was 4-of-11 passing for 120 yards, while rushing 18 times for 84 yards with two touchdowns. Adam Ballard paced the ground game with 29 carries for 167 yards and a score in the victory.

–Navy has beaten Army three times in a row both SU and ATS after last year’s rout as a 13-point favorite, 42-13. The combined 55 points slithered ‘over’ the 54 1/2-point closing total.

–Army defensive end Brandon Thompson is ‘questionable’ versus the Midshipmen due to a hamstring injury, while wide receiver Jacob Murphy (collarbone) is ‘doubtful.’

–Navy running back Karlos Whittaker (knee) and fullback Matt Hall (knee) are ‘out’ for the season.

–Saturday’s forecast calls for sunny skies, with a high of 43 degrees and a low of 30.

**UCLA at Southern Cal**

–LVSC installed Southern Cal as a 21-point home ‘chalk’ over UCLA, with the total set at 73 ˝. This Pac-10 affair is scheduled to start Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Bruins enter this contest with a three-week break from action.

–UCLA (9-1 SU, 6-4 ATS) rebounded from its lone setback to topple Arizona State Nov. 12 as a three-point home favorite, 45-35. The combined 80 points went ‘over’ the 69-point closing total, helping the ‘over’ improve to 6-2 on the season.

–The game was tied 28-28 at halftime before the Bruins took the upper hand with two third-quarter touchdowns. UCLA ended the contest with advantages in passing yards (510-334) and turnovers forced (3-2), while trailing the Sun Devils in first downs (29-23) and rushing yards 181-150).

–Quarterback Drew Olson enjoyed an incredible performance, going 22-of-27 passing for 510 yards with five touchdowns. Maurice Drew contributed with 23 carries for 88 yards and a score, while tight end Marcedes Lewis caught seven passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

–Southern Cal (11-0 SU, 5-6 ATS) remained on track to capture its third straight national championship after holding off Fresno State Nov. 19 as a 23-point home ‘chalk,’ 50-42. There was no total on that matchup.

–The Trojans trailed at halftime, but took control by outscoring the Bulldogs, 28-7, in the third quarter. Fresno State made it close with a couple of fourth-quarter touchdowns, but a potential tying touchdown pass was intercepted in the end zone late in the contest. USC led the Bulldogs in rushing yards (308-110) and turnovers forced (5-1).

–Signal caller Matt Leinart completed 22-of-33 passes for 200 yards with a touchdown, while running back Reggie Bush had 23 carries for 294 yards with two touchdowns and caught three passes for 68 yards. Wideout Steve Smith caught seven passes for 42 yards and a score, and Dwayne Jarrett had five catches for 37 yards.

–USC is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS versus UCLA the last four years after prevailing last season as a 21 1/2-point road ‘chalk,’ 29-24. The combined 53 points went ‘under’ the 63 1/2-point closing total, ending back-to-back ‘over’ outings in this series.

–UCLA offensive tackle Brian Abraham (ankle) and linebacker Aaron Whittington (quad) are ‘questionable’ versus the Trojans, while center Mike McCloskey (shoulder) is expected to miss this game.

–USC running back LenDale White (shoulder) is ‘probable’ against the Bruins, while linebacker Keith Rivers (hamstring) is ‘doubtful.’ Linebacker Thomas Williams (knee) is expected to miss this game.

–Saturday’s forecast for Los Angeles calls for sunny skies, with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 45.
