Is Brady really that much Better John Elway?

Brady 3-2 in Super bowl, Elway 2-3 in Super bowl. Brady 8 Championship game Elway 6 Championship games. Elway edges Brady in every all time passing record. Elway also played in a league when the defense could brutalize you, plus he took two different Head coaches to the Superbowl. So when we get all this talk here about Brady being GOAT, his numbers are not that much better Elway.

I think we are talking about 2 of the top 4 QBs of all time. Both are similar in the fact that they took lesser talented teams far in the playoffs year after year.

Better superbowl record, more championship games. 59 more touchdown passes, he'll pass Elway in career passing yards next year. Has Elway beat by 6% in completion %. Elway thrown 90 more interceptions. Brady with same number of wins but with 39 less losses.

Yes, Brady is not that much better than Elway, good call.

    Brady has had a system.
    Elway was the system.

Elway was better. The guy did so much with so little. Elway had 3 good players on defense. Mecklenburg/atwater and kragen.

Yes. Elway is a horse toothed jackass who won 2 rings because of Terrell Davis.

Brady would have died on the field with the early denver teams elway had. Elway lost the superbowl to 2 of the top 5 greatest teams of all time. The 89 niners and the 86 giants.

So you're saying you're arguments are based on 'maybes' and 'what ifs'? I'm dealing with reality and that reality involves facts, indisputable facts.

    Yes, Brady is much better.

Terrel Davis carried Elway on his back.

I don't think you can accurately compare the two. Brady will have him in numbers by the time he retires, but Elway played in a different era. Both have taken mediocre talented teams to Super Bowls. I'd take Brady o0ver Elway for the first three qtrs of a game, but there's no other QB in NFL history I'd rather have than John Elway for the 4th qtr.

Elway drafted 1st overall, didn't want to play for the team he was drafted by and forced a trade, Brady drafted in the 6th round as a backup makes the most of an opportunity and goes on to win 3 super bowls while putting up stellar numbers every year while never really having a deep threat on offense. And the one year he has a deep threat in Moss he breaks all sorts of records and gets to the Super Bowl undefeated. And even at age 36 guy is still putting up the numbers and is coming off another great season. No debate here.

And the one year he had a deep threat tommy could not win the superbowl. The 2 years elway had a great) he won. Elway is the nfl 4th qtr escape and find a play legend. Who lost more playoff games at home? Who lost more afc title games? Also let's not forget elway played 5 superbowls in which his team was dog in 3 of them. They should have been a dog to the skins as well. He also played under dan reeves.

Ed McCaffery was a 5th string scrub, Rod Smith was in the practice squad, while Shannon Sharpe got drafted in the 7th round. Elway made all of them into Pro Bowlers. And it was much harder to get receiving yards back in the days.

Froster you were young during the old days pal when elway had nobody. Well he did have sammy winder. Were u watching back then when one year wonder Bobby humphrey was taking shovel passes? Brady nevr faced teams like the 89 niners and 86 giants. Lucky for him. He got mcnabb/delhomme types. He even let a retard beat him twice in the superbowl lmfao.

I think they are both great in different ways. I actually have them at 1 and 2 all time with Elway number 1.

Bobby Humphrey was bad@ss, he had two decent seasons. He played with an injured rib in Superbowl or the Broncos would of lost 20-42 instead to the niners. 1989 is the farthest I go with football knowledge.

I think this year is Brady's most impressive. Talk about a team of scrubs.
I always said Brady only won his 3 because of the great defense he had, but if he wins against Denver this week and then the Superbowl against Seattle/San Francisco, I think I might have to put him at the top of my list for best QBs ever.

Different QBs, different eras. Let's compare Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson, now that's interesting.

Elway is physically more gifted probably than anyone whoever played the game at QB, that nobody can argue period end of conversation. He'll win all the punt, pass and kick competitions every time so don't bring any of than into the discussion.

You can find guys who match Brady and Elway....

As an example-- Take Roger Staubach.

    8 NFC title games.

    5 Super Bowls.

    2 Super Bowl wins.

    That's pretty damn impressive too.

you're out of your penetrating mind. Matt cassel won 11 games when brady went down or did you forget that already. Belichick is one of the greatest coaches if not thee greatest coach of all time. Did you not just see the pats blow out the colts with D and running the ball?
