Who is the best overall athlete in the NFL?

    Here are some candidates.

    1. Adrian Peterson
    2. Patrick Peterson
    3. Vernon Davis
    4. Calvin Johnson
    5. Margus Hunt
    6. Haloti Ngata
    7. Dominique Rogers-Cromartie
    8. Aldon Smith
    9. Julious Peppers
    10. Jason Pierre-Paul

It is tough because when I see Adrian Peterson or Vernon Davis, it is like how can these guys get beat. But then I see Haloti Ngata move like that at 350 pounds. I am going to select Bengals rookie Margus Hunt. Guy is seriously the best athlete in the world. He is foreign and new to football so he hasn't made his name yet but this guy is a freak.

    6'8
    280
    4.60 40 time
    34.5 inch vertical
    10 ft 1 broad jump38 bench reps
Won an olympic medal for the discus, bronze in 2004
Won gold in the shot put in the junior olypics
Did well in the hammer throw
    He is a decathlete

So at 6'8 280 the guy is huge, but he has pretty much no body fat.
His 4.60 40 time is almost as fast as an NFL receiver, he is faster than some.
His vertical is right in the mix for a WR at the combine, better vertical than Tavon Austin and he's 6'8!
His 38 bench reps with those long arms! That's a DT figure right there.

Dez Bryant may not be a top 10 player but he is definitely a top 10 athlete in the NFL

Honey Badger has no strength, he's small, and he still isn't the fastest on the list. DRC is everything honey badger is but a better athlete.

Vernon Davis is a freak of nature. How someone of that size is able to run a mile in 34 seconds is beyond me.

Patrick Peterson, Vernon Davis, AP, Megatron, Josh Gordon, Percy Harvin, Jamaal Charles all great candidates. As for the big boys, I'd go with Ngata and Geno Atkins.

Josh Gordon has been a beast. If he keeps his head on straight, he will make some noise for quite some time.

Very shifty but I don't think his straight away speed is that high. If you like McCoy Reggie Bush is the same thing but better. Very shifty and probably faster straight away and probably stronger also.

Honestly I like Vernon Davis. Bit of a homer opinion but with his size 6'3 250 running a 4.3/4.4 40 and 42+ inch vertical plus the sheer strength of a blocking tight end..yeesh. He's a straight freak of nature, kinda like Jevon Kearse was when he was in the league.. AD is of course up there but as far as pure athletes, i dunno how it gets better than Davis.

This being said, Calvin Johnson follows a CLOSE second in my opinion, i only give Davis the edge because he is bigger and still just as fast, if not faster than Calvin and stronger

Vernon Davis could be #1 with his size, strength and speed but the only problem I could find is his shiftyness. He is all muscle and I don't see him as agile as other guys. Same thing with Megatron. Tall, fast, great leaping ability but can he really move? Brandon Marshall is of the similar mold but is way more agile than Megatron. Brandon Marshall can juke guys out.

When you start thinking that train of thought out then maybe Patrick Peterson wins out because he has the size, speed, strength and agility.

Joe Staley, Joe Thomas, Chris Long's brother Kyle Long is a great athlete. I think most people would be shocked to see how athletic these lineman can be. They aren't fat slobs like you think.

McCoy is in a better system and is a better player. But Reggie Bush is a better overall athlete.

Vernon Gholston is a great athlete, I don't think he is even in the league anymore. You don't think he's a better athlete than London Fletcher?

Reggie Bush is a better athlete than Shady.
