I think it should be a prerequisite that the ROY award be given to a player from the U.

    No

I think that Colston has already done enough to wrap up the award. If only Reggie had started his scoring binge earlier in the season...

Colston should get it. I think if Young keeps rolling he could pass him up.

Isn't this a fan selected award by popular vote?

    Austin,

Young has been great lately, but like Bush he did virtually nothing the first half of the year. In fact, he was not even the starting QB at the start of the season. On the flip side, Colston has been a key contributor to the #2 seed in the NFC from Day One. Now Young will get some votes on name recognition alone, especially if he closes out with three more solid games. However the Award is for Rookie of the Year, not Rookie of the Second Half of the Year.

Colston hasnt even played the entire year due to injury.

Bottom line, Young has made the most impact for his team. Titans aside fomr Henry on offense do not have any key players. He has had several come from behind victories. Colston is a weapon amongst many for the Saints. Your argument for Colston maybe be a good one, but he does not deserve the award.

    Austin,

Oh I agree totally that Young has had the biggest impact on his team than any other rookie. Nor would I dispute the fact that if I had to choose a player to play on my team, Young would be a hands-down choice over Colston.

The point I am making is that Rookie of the Year should be based on performances over the entire year, and I give Colston the nod simply because he had a head start over both Young and Bush. Colston has missed two games due to injury, and he will still finish with 1500+ receiving yards and probably double-digit touchdowns.

Hester now has two NFL records and without him, Bears conceivably lose at AZ, NYG and maybe even last night...He is also going to probowl.

A great Returner winning ROY, not a chance. He is average at best on defense. Mr. Holt schooled him..........

Ben Roethlisberger, 2004 Offensive ROTY, was only the second quarterback to win the award, and the first since Dennis Shaw in 1970, a 34 year span...
history favors Reggie Bush as running backs have won an astounding 30 out of 39 ROTY awards,(77%)

Probably gonna have to say Colston at this point just because he is a more 'everyday' player (well not counting his injury). Been HUGE for the Saints.

Sorta using the DH for MVP in baseball referring to Hester because he only plays special teams for the most part probably not gonna give it to him. But my mind could be changed if he gets one or 2 more return tds in the next few weeks ;p

Both Bush and Young still have time to impress some more too.

This rookie class is the best to come out in many years, so this will be debated years down the road.

Boy I hate to agree with you on this one bud, because SBR_John will never let me live it down, but I agree with you on Young winning this award.
