Redskins vs Seahawks Preview and Pick

The game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins may be the most anticipated game of the Wild-Card weekend.

The battle between Russell Wilson and RG3 is one for the record books. In the 2012 season the NFL has seen talented rookie quarterbacks that hasn't been seen before in the NFL. Russell Wilson and RG3 will both try and get their first playoff wins when they face off on Sunday.

The Washington Redskins needed to beat the Dallas Cowboys in week 17 to win the NFC East. Behind RG3 and Alfred Morris the Redskins defeated the Cowboys as they ran them off of the field. Seattle didn't have to win in week 17 to clinch a playoff birth, they did it with consistent play throughout the regular season.

Seattle has had impressive wins at home this season and look to take their success to the road in Washington. Russell Wilson is up in the talks for Rookie of the Year with RG3 and both quarterbacks are merely similar. Both QB's can run the football and throw down field with great precision.

Seattle is the 3rd best rushing offense in the NFL behind Marshawn Lynch that earned his name in the playoffs when he unleashed, "Beast Mode" when playing against the Saints a couple years ago. The Washington Redskins are number 1 in the league in rushing behind Alfred Morris and RG3, who are both rookies.

The Redskins have the advantage when it comes to passing yards per game and total yards per game. The thing that may separate these two teams are the defenses. The Seattle defense has smothered opponents offenses this season.

Behind Chancellor and Sherman the Seattle defense has been known for hard hitting and causing turnovers. With the 49ers and Seahawks in the NFC West, they have changed the division into one of the most physical in the NFL. Chris Clemens led the team with 11.5 sacks.

Washington will try and score points, which they are very good at doing. Washington is 4th in the NFL in points per game, a surprising feat for a team led by rookies. Behind veteran receiver Santana Moss Washington has Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan.

London Fletcher will lead the defense after spending the last 6 years in Washington. The 15 year veteran has been vocal about his confidence in RG3 especially after RG3 was named a team captain. Mike Shanahan has to be happy with the effort of his young team after starting the season 3-6 and never losing a game after that.
