Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books so I thought I would create my own power rankings from what I saw over the weekend combined with what to expect going forward. I will try to update this every week. Here goes nothing...
1. 49ers: They now have the balance on offense to catch up if their league best defense ever has a bad day...
2. Patriots: Added a couple young guys on defense that can rush the passer and tackle, might be the final pieces...
3. Packers: Defense is built to attack with a lead, no one is better at giving a team a lead than A.Rodgers...
4. Cowboys: If their new corners even play close to what is expected, we have a new Super Bowl Contender to add to the list...
5. Bears: A big, playmaking WR like Marshall was exactly what this team needed, can Cutler keep him under control???
6. Steelers: Polomalu, Big Ben, and Harrison are all still top 5 Players at their position. That means they can still rush the passer, create turnovers, and score points, the name of the game...
7. Texans: Nothing too flashy, but they are very good and balanced on both sides of the ball. Need to stay healthy...
8. Eagles: If Vick stays healthy, this team can beat anyone, don't be fooled by their hiccup in Cleveland...
9. Ravens: I must admit, their offense looked pretty good vs. the Bengals, but will the new "up tempo" offense hurt that famous Ravens D???
10. Saints: They need home field advantage in the playoffs to be a factor, don't see it happening...
11. Broncos: Manning looked good, but the offense seemed too dink-n-dunk to me. Defense not as good as advertised...
12. Giants: A team built for the playoffs. It's a shame they won't make them this year...
13. Falcons: Can Julio Jones make up for Matty Ice's shortcomings???
14. Lions: The most dangerous, badly coached team around. They can win or lose to anyone...
15. Redskins: RG3 isn't as good as you think, but he is still pretty damn good...
16. Buccaneers: What a difference a coach makes
17. Panthers: If the league figures out Cam, this team will be in the bottom 5 of these rankings in no time...
18. Bengals: These guys seem so much better than they really are. The coaching staff needs to be blown up...
19. Chargers: Something tells me they will be climbing the charts, might even sneak into the playoffs...
20. Titans: Who's your QB? Is Chris Johnson a winning player? Too many questions...
21. Chiefs: These guys sure missed Tamba Hali, good team that will most likely climb the charts...
22. Jets: If they played the Bills every week they would never lose. The circus will be back open for business in no time...
23. Cardinals: A QB away from the playoffs. Should have gave Peyton an ownership offer...
24. Rams: These guys will be a thorn in someones side almost every week. Bradford will never be elite...
25. Seahawks: Good at home, below average on the road. Russell Wilson is Doug Flutie all over again...
26. Colts: Get ready for some high-scoring, back and fourth, barn-burners. Probably a playoff team next year...
27. Dolphins: Need pass protection and receiving weapons...
28. Bills: Jets made them look way worse then they really are. Notice the bookmakers weren't fooled... (Bills 3.5 point favorites this week)
29. Raiders: They have an old, immobile QB with a weak arm and no receiving threats. You can only dump it off to McFadden so many times. (13 times in week one ) Defensive front and kickers keep them from the bottom of the list...
30. Vikings: You struggled with the Jags at home. What do you have to say for yourselves???
31. Jags: People say they are improved... Of course they are, did you watch them play last year? They had to improve...
32. Browns: Can't even name 2 of their receivers...
