Sunday night's contest has the Seahawks in Chicago against the Bears in what should be a defensive battle.

What we have here are two of the better defenses in the league, a conservative offense in Chicago and a Seattle offense that will be without Shaun Alexander. That sounds like a great recipe for an under to us.

The Chicago defense is picking up right where it left off last season, stingily allowing 7.7 points per game over its first three games this year. The Bears have been equally effective vs. the run (82.0 yards per game) and the pass (184.0), and the absence of Alexander should make their task even easier here. As for the offense, it reverted to its conservative nature last week vs. Minnesota after showing a little bit of life the first two games.

Now do not read much into the fact that the Seahawks allowed 27 points in the fourth quarter vs. the Giants last week. After all Seattle held a 42-3 lead entering that stanza, so it was in an ultra-prevent mode. The truer picture of the ability of the defense is the fact that it allowed just 16 points in the first two games of the season and then three points over the first three quarters last week. We feel the Hawks should have little trouble containing the Chicago offense in this spot.
