Favre to play '06 season for Packers

Brett Favre informed the Packers on Tuesday that he will definitely play the 2006 season in Green Bay, league and team sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Favre shared his decision with general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy in a telephone conversation on Tuesday morning, the sources said.

Neither Favre, Thompson nor McCarthy was available for immediate comment. Bus Cook, Favre's agent, did not return phone inquiries.

Favre has said previously that if he decides to play in 2006 it will be his final season in the NFL.

You knew he wouldn't go out on how he finished last year.

There's to much parody in the NFL, so who knows.

There's plenty of parody on the Packer's team, talent-wise. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm predicting an absolute dismal season for the Pack this year. I was much more optimistic at the start of last season, yet I was looking at 8-8 to be overachieving. This year if they get to 5 wins, I'll eat my Packer's jersey.

Saints, Rams, Cards, Jets at home are about the only games with a prayer of them being favorites. I think the Lions, Vikings and Bears will be much improved this year. Maybe a game in Buffalo or San Francisco, but it would have to be an upset.

Seriously, so far this offseason the Packers have done nothing except let key veterans like Flanagan & Walker leave without replacing them. The draft might be nice this year picking in the #5 slot, but these guys will be rookies. Past Packer drafts in recent years haven't been awe inspiring. They might even "waste" the #5 pick overall on a QB. What does that give them for THIS year? Another high draft pick in 2007 is the best hope for Packers fans, I guess.

Was there ever any doubt that he was coming back. The Great One called it from Day 1. A good season for them will be going into week 12 with a distant mathematical chance at making it in as a wild card. They should have not taken rodgers last year and addressed their many other needs and get a quarterback this year(Cutler and Leinart) are both better prospects than Rodgers.

We all knew Favre wasn't going to retire. Maybe I should email him this. Any sane mind would reconsider!

That's the current O-Line roster for the Packers. After losing their best protectors in Flanagan, Rivera, Wahl over the last year and without any thought for replacements via draft or free agency this is what is left over. The Texans are probably chuckling a little, looking at this pathetic lineup for the Packers.
