Don't know much about wazzu, but from the outside doesn't seem like they are too great of a team. Now have beat Washington 2x. Must just have their # I guess, but losing by 11 at home in a revenge game is rough!

    Food for thought ?

Oddsmakers set Washington as only a 3-4 point favorite when these 2 teams met up at the end of December in LA. UCLA playing much better now, and getting 8.5.

This game kind reminds me of the HOT Purdue going into Michigan State last week.

You have Michigan State which was the favorite coming out of the B10, but due to a up and down season they needed a win against Purdue to feel good about the tourney. Same thing with Washington as the favorite in the PAC10, and now maybe in a little better shape than MSU was.. but really kinda need this win here bad for the tourney.

That said Purdue is much much better than UCLA though.

UW average points at home in conference play for last 5 games: 87.6
UCLA average points away in conference play for last 5 games: 66.2 ( not including points scored in OT )

UW average allowed at home in conference play for last 5 games: 75.2
UCLA average allowed away in conference play for last 5 games: 66 ( not including points allowed in OT )

by my calculations, if you're just using points as a measuring stick, UW would have a -6.2 advantage over UCLA in the last 5 games as an average home/away. Rebounding margins are about the same for both teams in the last 5 home/away. Turnover margins favor UW by +4.6 in the last 5 home/away
The turnover margin is a bit skewed because of the 19 turnovers that UW had agains WSU. They typically take care of the ball at home.
If UW can capitalize off of a loose UCLA turnover margin they might be able to get there. But in my opinion, UCLA has the athletic ability to keep up with UW on the road. They might not win, but by the numbers, they look like they have a good chance of covering

UCLA has only lost by a margin of 9 or more four times this year @Zona @USC @Villinova on a neutral court. Also losing by 11 at home to......you guessed it....UW. They haven't lost by a by more than 12 pts all year

It looks like they're begging you to take UCLA. A team with a better record and a better conference record getting 8 points. I'm seeing the public heavily on UCLA and the line has gone up to 8.5. UCLA is coming off a big win over Arizona, so this is a possible letdown spot. Before the Washington State game, Washington won all of their home games by at least 11 points. And with that loss, Washington is suddenly on the bubble to make the NCAA Tournament. They don't want to leave any doubt in the selection committee's minds. I like Washington to bounce back with a nice double digit win here. I reserve the right to change my mind, but Washington looks like the play.

UCLA shouldn't be getting 8 pts from anyone by the way they've been playing lately....
Huskies losing 2 straight, coming off an embarrassing loss to WAZU... yup got swept by state rivals..on home court
How can u lay 8 points to a team with a better record, conf. record also... lol
Huskies ALL DAY and 1H Huskies... someone knows somethin...

Give me 8.5 points and I'll take it. Thank you Sports books, I will gladly take your money.

    Washington (19-9, 10-6; RPI: 35, SOS: 65)
The Huskies are suddenly in some danger of missing the NCAAs altogether after a horrible showing in a home loss to Washington State Sunday night. The Huskies have two solid wins, two suspect losses and a rapidly weakening overall profile. The visit from the surging L.A. schools this week is now really big.

Your whole "anti square" approach to picking games isn't any better than flipping a coin since the public wins games to. It's figuring out which ones that matters. Like the rlm on heat/hornets game that was completely wrong

I find it hilarious how people only see the angles of the side they're on. UCLA for me. Wash was exposed as a mediocre team.

Who has UCLA beaten on the road? That is the question. I know they lost to a shitty Cal team last week on the road.

All the arguments against UCLA are good, but...

the title is the title, and points are points. Lot more at stake for UCLA here.......that's where I'd plunk the change--------but that's just me.
