Well i thought the same thing.....BUT if you go to sportschatplace and read the write up for this game you will see why....SMU is actually the 3rd best defensive team in cbb.....go read the write up and you will see why.I think cinci could cover, but they know what they are doing with this line and i think SMU wins by 7
This game is obviously huge for SMU to defend home court and split the series vs cincy. If you watched that last game, SMU had a good chance to win the game straight up. SMU had to go on a run to get back in it, but cincy's run before that was helped by a tremendous home court along with home court refs. The calls certainly went cincy way.
I think SMU continues to own the boards, maybe get some calls their way, and drop more shots on their familiar rims. Could see SMU by 7 or 8.
SMU is upticking in visibility and healthy, Nysier Brooks
doubtful for Cincy, he would clog up the paint, has 18 blocks, their
bench center.. this means the SMU bench could be scoring.
Cincy has struggled to produce points on the road. SMU has been
holding their opponents to low scoring consistently in their victories.
On Jan 12 they almost beat Cincy at Cincy 64-66. Vegas seems to
think SMU will have a big game, I wouldn't disagree with that.
Can't say I would lay -4.5 either, although if I had to choose I
would lay it with the Cincy road issues and SMU defense, plus home
court advantage.
The two cappers on Cincy earlier in this thread seem to be sticking their
necks out on a very risky game, just because it's a high visibility affair,
when in reality there are better bets.
