USC junior point guard Jordan McLaughlin named Pac-12 Player of the Week after leading the Trojans to the Las Vegas Classic title with a game-winning overtime basket.

With star forward and captain Bennie Boatwright out six weeks, the USC Trojans needed someone to step up and fill in the scoring void.

His fellow captain, junior Jordan McLaughlin, has done that and more. McLaughlin was averaging 10.1 points through the first seven games (Boatwright was injured in the seventh game). Since then, he has averaged 20 points per game, helping USC add six more wins to their unbeaten record -- now at 13-0 -- and move up to No. 22 in the Associated Press top 25.

McLaughlin averaged 19.0 points, 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebound and 1.7 steals in three wins last week to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career.
