    Some thoughts for December 8

Already got wager locked in on Marquette.

SoDakSt getting no respect against minny... Not impressed with Minnesota yet this year. Think SoDakSt could pull an upset away from home. they shoot it very well.

I feel like stony Brook could give Notre Dame a game.... The Irish don't defend well (saw it in person) and with a real monster down low in jameel warney I think they can give them fits.

South Dakota is a ballsy play.

I think Michigan hangs in with SMU.

Maryland is gonna blow doors off UConn

    How are the jackrabbits ballsy?

They do damn near everything better than minny:
    Effective FG%
    Off reb %
    FTA
    3p%
    2p%
    Ft%
    Defend the 3 better
    Defend the 2 better....
    More experience (3 senior starters)

Only thing minny does better is blocks and steals (allowed and created)...

Than they'd be favored in this game. Bottom line. There not. Vegas is giving them 3.5 for a reason

Here's some ATS #s as well:

Minnesota is 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, and 5-2 against the spread at home against a team with a winning record. South Dakota State is 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 non-conference games, 12-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games.

Take a look at the under in the Houston/Rhode Island game. I think there's some solid value there. GL!

Good defenses definitely... I could see around 72-65 final score or something similar.

    Looking at Evansville now too.
They get no respect ever.... They are playing great ball.
Arkansas 3 wins are over teams 238 or higher according to kenpom... Losses to 4 teams ranked between 71 and 126...

Arky does not defend well... Evansville can shoot it. DJ BALLentine will be best player on floor... If they can have a good collective effort and slow down Moses Kingsley. I think Evansville steals a non conference road victory.

And fading the SEC in bball is always a good idea.

Some additional info on the Houston/URI under...

I think this total is inflated because of Houston's high ppg average (90.8). But when you look at who the Cougars have played, that number appears misleading. According to Sagarin, Houston has played the easiest schedule in the country. According to Kenpom, Houston has played the easiest schedule by defenses faced.

On the other hand, URI is in the top 15 in points allowed per game (59.7). Rhode Island also ranks 312th in the country in possessions per game (68.2). As a result, the Rams are averaging just 69.7 ppg. They're also a terrible free throw shooting team.

I typically like the better team and the home team to control the pace, so I look for a slower paced game than Houston is used to and a total score 8-10 points below the posted total of 145.5. GL!
