Just trying to make good plays based on strong information, one thing now is a sports enthusiast has
all the tools now to make informed plays, gotta get better.
Saturday Notes, Michigan St looked good, Northern Iowa looked good,and can really shoot.
Don't like the way Notre Dame plays defense, they execute really well. Look at how weak North Carolina is, losing the acc final, squeaking it out vs Harvard. Don't like the way the maryland team is undisciplined, they lose their guys on defense, they look like they rely on talent alone. The opposite of Notre Dame who plays in a way that makes them look more talented than they are. West Virginia plays a different kind of game, and they are healthy and deep. I think West Virginia needs a post threat to make their offense a little smoother, Wisconsin is an incredible team,its hard to get two stops in a row vs that team. The West is strongest.
Interesting matchups here, Ohio St vs Arizona against winnner of UCLA vs UAB,
The issue with Cincinnatti is; can they have a good shooting game, and not turn the ball over. Kentucky is a defensive team. Haven't really seen them go at it with another real strong defensive team. Probably Kansas has the easiest road. Didn't like the way Notre Dame played defense, and that makes it difficult to run away from teams.
The one thing that needs to be cleaned up in the college basketball game, is when guards drive to the rim and throw themselves at bigger defenders in the paint,and the defense gets called for a foul. They need to adjust the rules so players can play defense in the paint. Just the whole rule that you can only take a charge outside the circle is stupid. The Georgia St. team is tough to watch because they execute so poorly and throw up a lot of bad threes.
Concerning the officiating;
The player on Virginia double dribbled, then traveled all the way to the hoop, no call;there was a stretch where the refs would not make a call against Virginia. It doesn't have to even be the whole game, but a 5 minutes stretch of bad calls was enough.
Maryland vs Valparaiso was a fairly called.
Experiment with UAB game. Gonna keep score of some of the critical calls, missed calls, cheap fouls, if anyone wants to keep track on this game then compare.
