    right after the Tennessee game.

Payout is $10k. How should I play this going forward?

Edit: the ticket is 200/1 after UVa's 35 point loss to Tenn on 12/30.

    Sorry.

Full disclose this a friend's ticket that I'm trying to buy from him. He doesn't understand or believe in hedging.

Yes. Bought when they were 9-4 after getting embarrassed by Tennessee.

If youre gonna buy it for a grand... I dont think its worth it. By the time you start trying to hedge (next game against m state) your be spending more than whay your return will be if they win it all.

His friend paid 50 for it. Win 10k.
He wants to buy it from his friend for 1k and hedge against it each game.

I dont think it is wise as the teams playing against them from here on out will have moneylines around +200 if they ARE dogs at all.
So itll be tough to win anything.

Thanks, I figured as much. Is there a certain way for my friend, with the $50 investment, to ensure a profit?

For him it is much easier.
He is only in $50 dollars, So now it depends how much he can risk per game. If he can afford it, he needs to look at how much profit he is willing to take.

Obviously, 10k is the goal. But betting enough to win 10k on multiple games is not feasible. I would recommend betting about 500 on M state, then 1k next game, 2k next game, and 3k on opposite in championship game, if he can afford it. There are 4 games remaining if Virginia continues to win. so that will cost him somewhere around 6550 with profit of 3450 if they win it all. And if they dont, then you will make some profit (although not alot). There is alot of question marks about his bet amount on the 4 remaining games if they continue to win. I did not have time to run perfect numbers.

Honestly, with only 50 dollar risk, I would say just ride it out.

Ride it out until at least final four. I think Virginia makes it there. Many people are way too concerned to lock in a profit and hedge that they give up way too much value. Ya I'd pay about 800-900 for the ticket. 1,000 is prob little too much tho
