Syracuse has just one quality win in their last nine games (West Virginia). Other than that, they've lost six and defeated a struggling Notre Dame team in the midst of their losing streak, and a mediocore, overrated Georgetown team by just four points. Villanova on the other hand is 7-2 in their last nine with losses coming from strong teams, Connecticut and West Virginia. They managed to beat Marquette, Pitt, Syracuse by 17, and Providence on the road.
While Syracuse may be 14-2 on their home floor, they did lose to Louisville recently proving them to be beatable in their house. Their other loss came to Cleveland State ten games into the season.
Because of this, I'm going to pass up on the two points and take Villanova straight up at +115.
Villanova @ Syracuse (Over 157.5) - WIN (175 Total Points)
Both of these teams a have high powered offense. Villanova scores 77.1 points per game while Syracuse scores 79.5. In addition to that, Syracuse gives up 71.7 points per contest. Georgetown scored 98 points at Syracuse a week ago, and a couple of weeks before that, Villanova scored 102 against the Orange. Providence put up 100 when they defeated Syracuse. The only teams not to get close to or reach triple digits were Connecticut (63 points) and West Virginia (61 points). Connecticut plays a slower paced game than most teams.
Clemson (-7) @ Georgia Tech - WIN (81-73)
Since getting back to .500, Georgia Tech has lost five in a row to put them at 10-15 on the season. They are just 8-7 at home and are the worst team in the ACC by far. The Tigers are red hot coming off a 29 point win against Maryland, who just defeated the third ranked Tar Heels. Oglesby and Booker are both on fire, I don't see any way Georgia Tech can win this game.
George Washington (+17.5) @ Xavier (-17.5) - WIN (71-53)
George Washington has proven to be a dreadful team losing 13 of their last 15 games and posting an overall 8-15 record. They are just 2-7 away from their home court while Xavier is a strong 13-1, their only loss coming to a strong Duke team early in the season. Xavier has actually lost three of their last four however and should be looking to lay out their frustrations on the hopeless Colonials, who have yet to play a quality opponent this year.
Good luck. If you have any questions on other games or want an explanation on something, please ask.
I was going to parlay all four actually because I was so confident in all of them but I always seemed to get screwed on parlays so I decided not to... ugh
Going to put my perfect Sunday on the line with...
Wake Forest (+8) @ Duke (-8) - WIN (101-91)
Duke is at home, coming off a road win, playing against a team that beat them on a last second shot. That team just happens to be an ACC rival who has never had any success in Cameron Indoor. I think Coach K is going to get his players up tonight, expect a lot of pressure by Duke and a lot of intensity.
Nice going I am on an 8-2 run, nba/ncaa....but I did tail for one of my wins (LOU)... Also just a thought, when you add your wins/losses, quote yourself do not edit. Not that you are doing it, but it makes it easy for some to change picks, and even easier for others to question the editing... You are hot! Keep it up.
