Somewhat true but if you are betting a grand on these games then you shouldn't be worried about a hedge after you already won the larger bet. Especially when you are on the far superior team that only needs to play the 2h even up to win.

Very good points. Here are some counterpoints...

1. Foul trouble may play a big part here.

2. Hawaii is at home and the officiating has been fishy at best.

3. Xavier is not the most disciplined of teams.

4. There are a lot of people who have no business betting 2 grand on a game like this but still do. IMO, if you are asking how to protect the first half profit, you probably are one of those people. No offense to the poster in question.
