current gameline:Kent State +8.5/Over 133.5
Kent State will have most its core last year players back. The team had a victory in an exhibition game recently against Rochester College (Mich) which has a 6-0 winning record; final result 76-63. Kent State shoot only 38.6% FG but had an edge 43-36 rebounding with 29 Pts off Turnovers. So it appear that this is a solid interior scoring team with a decent defensive effort and rebounding.
The Mountaineers had lost their exhibition game at home to Division II Northern Kentucky on Nov. 4, recovered to earn a 78-71 victory over Oral Roberts last Friday. Despite shot 58.8% FG, West Virginia had won the game by 7 while at home; they were outrebounded 23-33 & 6-17 of which offensive rebound, so yes they were lucky to have had won that game without interior game.
Kent State will be good enough to win this game & let alone with a +8.5 line head start, this should be a sweet spot.
I think the score will be along combination of 74-69; it should be a slow first half 27-33, then off to a fast 2nd half scoring production.
