    hey guys quick question

    http://odds.sbrforum.com/#/odds/nba/...intspread.html

When you click this link above it brings you to the daily lines for the nba. Under the info section there's a "consensus" percentage calculated. So for the Celtics pacers game the point spread is 64% 36% in favor of the Celtics covering the spread. How is this consensus number generated?

    Thank you for your time!

I believe it is the number of bets, irrespective of dollar amounts. Either way, I wouldn't pay a whole lot of attention to it. That consensus comes from only one book (5Dimes), and that isn't a book that is going to be having significant wagers from sharps that move the line or from people playing with tons of cash (because they tend to limit people who do well). If you are looking for RLM, for example, it could be deceiving because 5Dimes will move their lines based on what other books do, and not necessarily by what wagers they accept.

If you want to keep an eye on public betting percentages, you probably would be well served checking several different sources and comparing them all, to in effect build your own consensus.

I can't tell you that one is necessarily better than another, but these are the ones I have bookmarked, in addition to SBR's that you posted. I tend to rely on the first link below the most, but I have no idea if it is the most accurate.
