There are a few reasons, but you actually answered your own question in a broad sense. Yes, it is correct, I will win year after year, but during those times there are up and down swings. Now, if the NBA was year around then I would just keep going, however it does end and I have to pay bills. If the season was winding down and I was in a downward spiral at the time then I could end up losing for the season. Now I could possibly make it back next season, but unfortunately, I would have used some of the money for my monthly living expenses and by the time the next season came around, my bankroll would be less. So, I have many stop scenarios along the way and I will even start making tighter picks if I am still in the game towards the end of the season. The last thing I want is to work all season long and have a loss. That is just too demoralizing. So, I would rather walk away with some cash in my pocket, my head held high, and not even look back to see if it was the best choice for making the most money, because for me, it was the right choice. I am in this for a lifetime, it is my livelihood; what I do for a living. I am not just some piece of flash paper that burns brightly only to quickly fade away as we see so often in this industry.
So, that is the main reason, I will end a season early with so many games yet to be played.
Best of luck,
