Why is Erik Spolestra An NBA Coach??

    He's a perpetual:
You really think he has command over Lebron and Wade or their respect?? Guy wouldn't get resepect from a High School team and he's in charge of meshing Lebron, Wade, and Bosh...He has zero coaching experience outside HEAT assistant for 7 years and started as video coordinator in 1995...what does Riley see in him outside rewarding loyality??

I think Riley will be back as coach. Imagine if they lose 5 in a row or something like that. That would drive Riley nuts.

Hes gotta teach them teamwork, everybody is playing slopppy and individual games. Miami D is just horrendous. I've seen like 4-5 plays where 3 guys go after one player. Eric WILL be the reason if Miami sucks this year

What was their season win total at again, like 62??? What a joke. Just remind me about Erik Spolestra and would have pounded under.

Probably the same reason Wade Phillips is coach of the Cowboys.

If they aren't looking good by next week Spolestra will develop a mysterious illness and ask to be excused for the rest of the season.

Way to keep your projected 64 win team and two current top 5 players focused, Spolestra.

64 win teams don't lose 22 point leads at home...they're 5-3 on pace for about 50 wins..while Lakers and greatest coach ever are about to go 8-0. Joke that Finals match-up would be.

If the playoffs started today... The Cav's would have home field advantage against the Heat in round 1. Oh the irony.

    why is it spoelstras fault?
this team is ugly built..star studded, great individual players but not built as a good team..
this it not baseball that you put every guy in there and expect them to win..

btw..pat rilley may have better command over his stars, but HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO COACH THIS TEAM..
he loves his record so much that he decided not to coach the heat when it was falling apart after their championship..
isn't a great coach like him suppose to make them compete? but instead, he threw spoelstra in there to tank the ugly record

"This game is now about younger coaches who are technologically skilled, innovative and bring fresh new ideas. That's what we feel we are getting with Erik Spoelstra. He's a man that was born to coach." Pat Riley plans to change his approach from when Stan Van Gundy was the coach. Riley predicted: "A lot of players want the discipline; they will play [hard] for Spoelstra, because 'they respect him.'"

because these guys need a proper manager they respect. it's going to make a big difference down the stretch. i didn't see it happening but it seems quite apparent. coaching means a little more in the nba that its given credit for. no reason this team should be barely above 500 at this point in the season. you can get into the specifics all you want, but shitty coaches don't win championships no matter how good their players are.

Books need a line out on when he will be fired/demoted. Before Christmas would probably be -250.

He also needs to wipe that fuking smile off his face he wears in press conferences/interviews...totally fuking clueless.

Unreal job to those who snagged TTwins Under 63.5..they are on pace for 43

Who in the world can coach LeBronedict Arnold? The guy is a narcissist who's ego is so big that it fills an arena. Paul Silas couldn't teach him anything, neither could Mike Brown who both took the fall for his failures. Phil Jackson couldn't coach this anointed one.

riley won with elite teams and players of all time. the heat the way they are put together now cannot beat other teams in the this league period end of story. they can win on any night vs anyone easily. they cannot win 4 out 7 in the playoffs vs deep teams that have a major interior presence i am sorry. riley will not win there either right now.

Feeling bad for him now. Team drowning in water ready to plunge below .500.

Did you see James bump his shoulder as walked right through him after timeout was called in Dallas game? It's not possible for the players' respect to be any lower than it is now for him. He's also now trying to get angry with his team as he flails his arms about in frustration with a pathetic frown on his face when he calls a timeout.

He's now Wade Phillips and Brad Childress status.

Players like Kobe would never do that no matter show shit the coach is. That's why they are title winners and LeBron isn't.

Stop making excuses for the downfall of a team with massive ego problems.

You're joking? Kobe would have that exact behavior. Just look how he pouts and throws fits over stupid shit now. Imagine what he would do if his team is .500 and he has an incompetent bum as coach telling him what to do.

Artest and Kobe are egomaniacs who used to hate eachother, yet play fine together because of Jackson and the team atmosphere he creates.

How do the Denver Thuggets play together with Karl? Pretty well.

0% chance James pulls that shit with Jackson, Sloan, Karl or any other respected coach in this league. In fact, Spolestra may be one of the few he would pull that with.

Lebron doesn't want Spolestra as coach, Wade does, controversy sure to ensue. The Heat's problems start and end with Lebron. He won't look in the mirror but every one around him has diminished with him in the spotlight. Coaches, players even his family take a back seat to his highness. This guy is a worse cancer than TO.

Front-runner for Coach of the Year.

Leclutch and the overachievers - team of the decade.

64 win teams don't lose 22 point leads at home...

he's a good coach for only 1 star on a team. Pat Riley needs to step in foreal foreal if Heat wants to win a championship.
