Starting Tuesday (April 1), we will start a new April Hoops Parlay Contest with a prize of $250 account at 5 Dimes, 3 time roll-over. Last place will receive a $25 5 Dimes account with a 3 time roll over. If there is a tie for last place in both units and game-by-game record (15 parlay minimum), there will be NO last place prize.

1. Check in the NBA BASKETBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 1:00 p.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading.

2. Posted spreads and totals are the only eligible plays for grading, no Money Lines or Halves allowed. NBA, NCAA Men's and beginning April 1, NCAA Women's games included.

3. Two-game parlay picks, laying 10 to win 26. Post entire parlay at same time, no open parlays.

4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up! The write-up does not have to be long, just a sentence or two about why you are making your play. If need be, please refer to prior month's contests for examples.

5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis for both games will be NO ACTION. Once your two-team parlay has been posted, you CANNOT change either play. Any edited post will count as a LOSS! If you make a mistake (such as leaving out "Over" or "Under" or not clearly stating your selection), need to add analysis or wish to enter corrected lines, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not tip off yet. It also holds true for past-posts and entries with no analysis. It does NOT hold true for posts that are not parlay selections, i.e. standings, commentary posts or congratulatory posts.

6. And here’s the fine print:

• Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
• One entry per household and IP address.
• Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits
• Maximum one parlay pick per day, minimum 15 parlay plays required to be eligible for monthly prize.
• Tiebreaker for first place - Win % of individual parlay legs. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head parlay match until winner determined.
• All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.
• SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

JAZZ/MAVERICKS UNDER 198.5: It seems both teams are stressing defense now that the Playoffs are on deck. The Under is 4-1 in the last five Dallas games while the Jazz have incredibly held two straight opponents in the 60s!

LAKERS/CLIPPERS OVER 209: The last time the Lakers failed to score 100 points, I had a full head of hair. Well, not really because there was one game in their last 12 where they failed to reach the century mark, but they averaged 113 points in the other 11 games. Now granted, the Clippers are having trouble scoring, but the Lakers have been rather generous defensively lately, allowing nearly 105 points per game in their last five contests.

Utah-Dallas U198.5: It's already playoff time. Utah wants homecourt over the 5th seed, and Dallas wants to make the freaking playoffs. Defense is what this is all about.

Denver +4.5: Denver leads the season series 2-1, they've won in Golden State already, and lately Golden State has been crushed by good teams. I expect Denver to at least keep it close, if not win outright.

Not a very good board. Three games, and one being impossible to decide on which is GS vs. Denver spread and total.

Jazz +4.5: Jazz may win this game outright. The Jazz are fighting for position more than the Mavs are. Basically the Mavs are gonna fall right into that 7th or 8th spot considering GS or Denver will fall back after tonight. The Mavs aren't playing well against winning record teams with Jason Kidd - with a 5-14 SU record vs. teams with winning records in the 2nd half of the season. With the Jazz's D the past two games, I like getting 4.5 points.

Lakers @ Clippers Over 209: I think the Lakers will get back on track here and buckle down for the rest of the season's playoff race. Lakers games always get one team in triple digits it seems and I expect the Lakers to tear apart this Clippers D just like Houston and Denver just did. Once the Lakers get up, they'll coast to the win without much resistence and the Clippers will get some late points.

#503 Utah/Dal ov 198.5 : i look for another emotional letdown on D again from the Jazz after their big win over the Hornets.they had one a few weeks back after beating the Celtics then turned around and lost to the Nets 117-115. the Jazz have had 5 overs and 1 under this season after an upset win as an underdog, and throw in that the Mavs have been getting good production lately from Howard,Terry,Bass, and Dampier.

#505 LAL -15 : the Lakers have covered this number all 3 meeting this season vs. the Clips, and throw in that the Lakers have been a money machine ATS on the road.

Even if the Lakers put up 109, I do not see the Clippers putting up a 100pt game. They'll run quick, but I think the Clippers will have a poor shooting percentage against the Lakers making this game go UNDER.

Denver +4.5 v Gs- Both offenses are similar, but I think Denver D is better with Kenyon and Camby and that's what going to get them this win.

Dallas -4- Dallas has been on a tear lately and even playing top teams well on the road. They should take this one with, home team backing and knowing their playoff seeding is not fully secure yet.

Denver/GSW over 238, two of the highest scoring teams in the league and extremely competitive as I expect a close game with tons of fast point as both teams are accustomed to if Jackson/Davis are on with their 3 this game will be nonstop offense

Dallas -4.5, Dallas has been annihilating their competition at home lately and having won 4 of their last 5 games (only losing by 4 to the Lakers in LA in their last 5) and their last 3 at home against Clips by 13, Golden State by 25 and Seattle by 16 I feel they are poised to take this game over at home and expect a double digit win by the Mavs.

The Lakers will put up a lot of pts scoring 113 or more in each meeting this year. They have also won the 3 games by 37, 18, and 21. The Lakers have shown the ability to blow out the Clippers and will control the game here. Since the Lakers play against a quality opponent, New Orleans, tomorrow I don't think they will play a lot of defense at the end and will cruise over the total and let the Clippers back within the spread.

utah +4.5: an often overlooked aspect of handicapping is where the line is originally set. i think this is sop much more important than where the line moves. in this case you have dallas open at -3.5. in the nba home court is worth 4-6 pts so right out of the box LVSC is telling you that Utah is the better team. suckers see the line as being a gift and are jumping on dallas pushing the line to -6 in some places. it has already been predetermined that utah will cover and most likely win this contest as the line is telling you, now if the line opened at dallas -8 i would be all over dallas. i expect a huge game out of deron williams. utah 100-94.

Den/GS over 238: again same situation with the line opening so high that players are almost forced to love under and that is again where consensus money is unloading on. if the line was 215 i would go under but because it is set so high,,, the over is the play6 here. final score 136-124. no idea who wins but this will be a really high scoring game.
