An Ego exclusive on the Saccramento Kings...

Changes in store for the Kings after the new year... courtesy of The Ego Edge

While head coach Rick Adelman is considered in many circles as one of the finest coaches in the NBA, it's becoming painfully obvious that the team isn't going anywhere this season and management is looking to make some moves.

Look for both Adelman and forward Peja Stojakovic (who is currently out with a bad back) to be gone after the start of the year.

Adelman has been forced to lean on starters Mike Bibby, Brad Miller, and Stojakovic to play a ton of minutes, unlike when the team had depth and was a contender in the Western Conference a few short years ago.

Stojakovic is a free agent at season's end and could be shipped to Denver, especially if the Nuggets fail to land Ron Artest.

Unlike most situations where the coach is more likely to be run out of town, Adelman (who is still well-liked and respected within the organization) is actually more likely to survive the house-cleaning than Peja, who will for certain be dealt before the trade deadline....

Rick Adelman isn't the one to put the blame on in this case. the team needs to rebuild, and they should give him a few more years in order to at least complete the rebuilding mode.
