    The Prop Shop

Had a good run during the playoffs last year in the NBA with props. My book has been sprinkling in some now and in NCAAB as well. The Prop Shop is open, we'll see how I do.

    2.22: NCAAB - Sherron Collins OVER 15.5 points (+110)
He doesn't have to be the man, but he's got just two home games left and hasn't really played superbly of late. This is a gut play, nothing statistically outside of Collins clubbing OU last year points to this being solid. Rock Chalk Jayhawk.

    2.23: NCAAB - Illinois/Michigan Total Threes Made OVER 13.5 (+130)
Two poor defenders of the arc. Neither shoots it lights out, but there will be opportunities a plenty.

What about Heat/Wolves over10 (-140) 3's..............high price but together they average 30+ attempts a game, not bad

Well that was a good shot, I mean if two teams can't make 25% of their three pointers in a game to cash, then you just chalk it up to crappy shooting. 10/48 combined from distance. Plenty of opps, just didn't can 'em. Michigan alone probably missed a dozen that were wide open.

    2.24: NBA - Lakers/Mavericks Total 3 Pointers Made UNDER 13 (-115)
Dallas has paid exceptional detail to defense since the trade. In their last 5, they are allowing opponents just 29% from beyond the arc. The Lakers are allowing just 32% in that same span and average 30% FGA from 3 on the season. Both teams have been hitting barely around or above 30% in their last 5. In two of the three meetings this season, this prop would cash. The exception being the Lakers 131-96 demolition of Dallas in January.

    2.25: NBA - Cavaliers/Celtics Total Threes Made OVER 13 (-130)
You've got the 2nd best 3 pt. percentage shooters in Cleveland against one of the top teams at defending the three in Boston. Funny thing is despite ranking 5th in the NBA in 3 pt. FG defense, the Celtics are one of the worst defending the arc on their home turf. They have given up at least nine threes in 3 of the last 4 at home. The Cavs are hitting over 40% from beyond the arc on the road this season, while Boston is giving up around 38% at home. Cleveland averages 7 made threes per road contest. The Celtics average about 6 threes per home contest, but shoot a low percentage at 32%. They did however make 9 of 19 against Cleveland when these two teams met early in the season, combining for 15 total in that game. Without Paul Pierce, they may lose a three or so in the total here, but I think the Cavs vs. Boston's defense are more than capable of making that up. Cleveland will need to do the damage for this to hit, but I think if they can hit 9 or more, Boston can do the rest. There's an average of 36 threes put up between these two, so hitting around 33% is what needs to happen.

got to disagree with you on this pick. I wouldn't take this at +125. Pierce being out is tough cause he usually only takes open threes, and eddie house gone is bad as well cause he can get hot and hit say 3 of 5 at anytime. And if he isnt hot he doesnt shoot. Now you have Rasheed laying total bricks and Ray needing to hit a high percentage for you to cover. On the cleveland side i dont really know, but id assume you would need Lebron to take a bunch of those step backers, and make them.........id say you need 40+ attempts to cover here, could happen but i doubt it. Gl thought i hope i eat my words

Hey EP what do you think about J.Kidd over 9.5 assists (+145)?...........he only had 6 in the last game vs atlanta, but here is his total the last 5 games since they acquired C.Butler:

    vs LAL 13
    vs IND 7
    vs MIA 11
    @ ORL 8
    vs PHO 10
    AVERAGE: 9.8

seems pretty realistic he will be over 8 total, just a matter of Dallas hitting some open shots after he dishes em off to get to 10

Atl is long defensively so I'd be weary of them challenging shots with their length.

Thats true, and Dallas is projected at 95.5 total points tonight. So there is a chance they get shut down a little bit. But still at +145 its a good little side bet. I think of the under9.5 assists -180, and i would NEVER take that. Makes me feel the +145 is a decent deal

    2.28: NBA - Jameer Nelson Total Points + Assists OVER 19.5 (-120)
Nelson has hit for 20 or more in these two combined categories in his last five games. Seems no coincidence that health and more playing time as a result of better heath/production is the key for this run. He's scored at least 11 points in 9 of his last 11 and dished out at least five assists in 9 of his last 10. Nelson has not played in either of Orlando's games against Miami this season. Magic number for Nelson seems to be about 33 minutes played in order for this sort of production. Let's see if he gets that tonight, he's hit 32 minutes or better in six straight. Only one of those did he fall short of these numbers needed and that was 13 points, 5 assists - just missing.

(wvu) kevin jones over 13.5 points- 5dimes
hes a bigtiime contributor to this team although he doesnt get as much press as ebanks or butler. hes clutch and has a steady hand at the freethrow line at the end of games. plus he averages 13.7 points per game and pulls down 7.5 rebounds.

    cincinatti's yancy gates over 5.5 rebounds (+100) @5dimes

wow. seems like a no-brainer. if he gets anywhere near the minutes he should be getting, this should cash very very easily at home against an undersized villanova team.

3.2: NCAAB - [FLORIDA] Kenny Boynton Total Points OVER 14.5 (-115)
Boynton had a big game vs. Georgia with 22 points and torched Vandy for 28 in the first meeting. Boynton lit them up for six threes and Vandy is giving up 41% from beyond the arc on the road this season. He's streaky, shooting just 28% for the year, but he still puts up about 7 per game. If he gets 12-15 shots from the floor in this one and attacks the rim a little to get to the FT line a handful of times, I like this one.

you have got to be kidding me. he averages 6.1 a game. the game line is -3.5 so it most likely wont be a blowout where he sits. and plus villanova plays a very fast pace with a lot of shots. and then at +100, unreal. this total should be 6.5...........next place i put money into will certainly be 5dimes

That caught my eye too, & I'm not the prop playing type, researching angles seeing if I can talk myself out of it, found this instead...

2 of 11 shooting at this point. I watched some of this game. He had one or two bottom out, but all in all a piss poor shooting show tonight. Still had the opportunities. Ah well.

boynton cost florida that game. down 2, clock off- shoots a 3. misses again of course.

Yeah 2 of 15 or something like that. Shoot if he makes 5 of 15 and a couple are threes, he might have done it. 33% son, you couldn't do that?

Little disappointed with the lack of NBA props at my book and I usually don't like these player vs. player, but this one caught my eye.

3.3: Ray Allen Total Points +1.5 [-115] (Gerald Wallace)
Not a lot of explanation for me here. Ray Allen is in solid form. Wallace working his way back after missing a few games and he's been shut down by the Celtics twice this season. Allen usually does well vs. Charlotte.
