So many excuses and passing the buck...Where has it gotten Laker Fan ? Durant was the only free agent that could possibly save this franchise from utter and complete mediocrity for the next 10 years....and he flat out refused to even have a SIT DOWN meeting with management... Whiteside resigned with Miami....so what do they do...They sign Mozgov... I like this fella...durable and reliable...but Mozgov is a far cry from Whiteside and Durant...looks like a constellation prize to me...

The Lakers had a chance to rebuild from the middle up...and instead chose to cater to a 37 year old ball hog with a blown Achilles..this costed them hall of fame power forward and Dwight Howard..the stupid fans chased Pau and Dwight out of town...and then turned around and encouraged management to sign Kobe to a ridiculous 48 million dollar contract crippling the franchise for the next 10 years...

As a result... no free agent will take them seriously after watching that farce of a season last year...sacrificing the development of young talent on the team to glorify an accused rapist and ball hog while he jacks up 40 shots a game..

They have now been reduced to offering Max money to 2nd and 3rd tier rejects while basement teams in their own conference continue to make gains and strides which will result in the Lakers likely missing the playoffs for the 4th year in a row... This is the real Legacy of the BLACK MAMBA....and where is Kobe now ? no where to be found...Magic has been fired as an advisor and Kobe is doing ghostbuster commercials. Just utter and total destruction left behind in his wake...

Kevin Durant won’t meet with Lakers

Jim Buss reportedly told people late last season the Lakers would sign Kevin Durant.
Then, they were just trying to get a meeting with him.
Not even that will happen.

This is embarrassing for the Lakers, a once-proud franchise that has fallen on hard times. Their problems start at the top and trickle down to a roster ill-equipped to win anytime soon. The Lakers have somehow overcome their historical success and desirable market to hold no meaningful appeal to Durant. That’s no easy feat.
