Hawks at Wiz Game 3 this Saturday

Looking to hear what people think about this game coming up.

John Wall underwent multiple examinations on Wednesday that revealed five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand.

That does not sound good at all. Wall is currently in consultation with multiple physicians and specialists to determine the best course of action, and his status for Game 3 on Saturday remains uncertain at this time. We're going to assume that he is very doubtful to play on Saturday, as head coach Randy Wittman was quoted saying that the team needs to be prepared to play without him. Ramon Sessions will be the starting point guard for however long Wall is out, while Bradley Beal, Paul Pierce, and Otto Porter will all be asked to step it up on offense.

Reading this makes me really lean on Hawks, I like Hawks even if John Wall plays wont be 100% not even close. I kinda just feel HAWKS take game 3.

Let's hear what everyone else thinks.

    Thanks

haven't really followed either of these teams very closely. i do agree with your analysis. wall is a huge reason why they won #1 and they put up a fight in 2 til the 4th. atl is def superior when they want it. i think atl knows this game is important and doesn't want to go behind a game so if i had to choose i choose atl especially if you get 1.5 to 2.5 points.lastly beal is due for bad game soon. i just don't like it enough to want to play it tho maybe i do a fun bet on atl or a live game bet.

his cheerleading from the bench was a major reason why they stayed close in game 2?

Was listening to NBA radio just now, A caller made a good point about how the Bigs for the Wizards can't move there feet fast enough to keep up with the ATL Bigs. ATL spreads the floor and the Wizards can't control the post or the three shoot at this point. NBA host this morning agree with the caller.

    ATL SATURDAY

Lots of $ coming in on Atlanta because of this.. both Saturday and series
swinging hard on the lines. Once the announcement is official the line could
go to -4.5/5 before tip, but i doubt it sees any higher than that.

It's not like there is no counter-argument. Let's assume Wall is out for year.
Wizards kept it close most of the game in Atlanta. This was after they won the
first game so Atlanta was really desperate to win at home. The Hawks played their best
basketball - but for most of the game, Wiz kept it within scratching distance
and even tied it in the 3rd. Then they couldn't keep Atlanta down.
Pierce was on fire from long. Gortat was dominating in the paint. Sessions
had sparks but didn't manage the floor like Wall does. There is a possibility
that Sessions will be more acclimated to starting and with the long layoff
should be a better play setter in game 3. Sessions is a capable PG. Temple
and Pierce can run plays. One thing about Pierce is he has subbed for down
point guards hundreds of times in his career. He can take the ball up court
and function as a PG. I would keep Pierce and Sessions off the floor and run
them separately so that Atlanta always has something to worry about.
Wiz have capable veterans in Rasual Butler, Nene and Drew Gooden. Porter
is playing well and of course Gortat.. you get Sessions distributing the ball
with these guys and then throw in Pierce on separate rotation.
Coaching, Sessions getting acclimated and vets stepping up will be the key
to victory for Washington. Nene, Gortat have to lock down defensively in the paint
with Temple, Pierce, Sessions, Butler terrorizing the perimeter shooters.
Wizards have had almost a full week to prep for this. It should be a great game.

I would leave the game open until live or halftime, based on what happens.
Unfortunately (perhaps) I am stuck with a Washington series bet which was
made when Wall was saying his injury was nothing serious !

It's truly painful reading other peoples thought processes here sometimes:
-Pretty sure Wall was actually not the reason Wiz put UP a fight in game 2 till the 4th, because, Wall didn't play in game2
-Pretty sure both teams, not just Atl, know this game is important & don't want to go behind a game
-Pretty sure everybody would like to be getting +2.5 points but considering how Atl is actually 3.5 favs & not 2.5 dogs, well....
-Pretty sure the "due for a bad game soon" theory is an absolute horrible approach to betting sports

I like Washington in this spot. They know everyone has written them off with the Wall injury but this is a gritty team, just watch the way they play team defense. Everyone like to look at scoring, but ignore the other half of the game. Washington will have to play lock down D at home and I think they do just that to squeak out the win. Give me Washington right before tip at +5.

not sure about this game but the writing is in on the Wall. ... ... ahhh, see what i did there lol..

HAWKS versus Cavs or Bulls next round GUARANTEED.

NBA doesn't not want a wounded team playing in the next round. If you are smart, just bet Hawks series price along with grizzlies series price

"lock" and "guaranteed" make for interesting bumps when it's over.

UGH. same here. Wizards series bet I made after game 1 would be worth a ton more if I made it today instead. Either way with Wall out, I hate my bet now. No way Wizards win this series unless Wall comes back.

I think Atlanta offense moves quicker than Wizards D. Washington big men don't move their feet fast enough to contest enough 3 point shots, so if the Hawks get hot, look out...

Still unsure on my series bet on Washington without Wall.... Wish I had some more money to hedge out a bit, but I will just have to let it ride. Not convinced in either team at this point. Whomever wins this series, I will bet against them in the next round for sure.

If you want an out and don't want to shell for the straight Hawks
    Hawks 4-2 is +200 , Hawks 4-3 is +180.
