As for the Heat, they are obviously better. After year one they figured out how to play as a team, Wade is healthy this year, and they added Ray Allen.

Heat were better in 2011 and they are easily better this year Rose or no Rose.

FYI, I would be rooting like hell for the Bulls to beat the Heat.
First of all, Belinelli is better than Korver. Brewer was always meh. Jimmy Butler is a much better player and much better than he was last year. Asik is the only downgrade and that doesn't make the Bulls a worse team. Bulls ahve dealt with some injuries. They really need Gibson and he is injured right now. Hamilton has missed a lot of time. Hinrich is out. But taking Rose out of the equation and assuming full strength with no onjuries, the Bulls are a better squad than they were last season. If you look close you'll see that.

I know bro but they were never going to lose to indiana. I thought it was funny how this board overreacted to that series last year. At some point they are going to hit a rough patch and it very well could come in the playoffs but the nba is set up for them to dominate right now as it stands.

bro they were underdogs on the series price v indy down 2-1. indy did not have the courage to put them away. bos should def have beaten them. of course its set up for them to dominate. there are no good teams left except them and okc is a small market that wont compete financially and spurs refuse to get a a big name besides the 3 old farts they have because pops does not ant to have anybody thAT MIGHT SPEAK BACK.

OKC is most likely f*cked in a series with the Spurs. That's where the loss of Harden will show the most.

Taking the Bulls +965 and hedging it out actually seems wise now that I think I about it.

Thunder have plenty of money. Their management is just a bunch of pussies who weren't willing to keep a great young core together. I hope that franchise never wins for making that stupid trade.

Not saying it's a bad bet because the odds will be great if they meet but I don't give chicago any chance. Like you said though it's sports anything can happen.

Yeah, you're pretty much on the money. OKC has been one of the most profitable teams in the league the last few season because of all of the long playoff series, which generate a lot of revenue, and the fact that OKC sells out every game.

getting rid of harden was a god move. the thunder saw that he did not have the nerve to perform on the big stage v miami. his finals performance was awful to say the least. they knew if they kept him it would be more of the same. and please dont compare the conf finals to the finals. the finals is the stage. the thunder got good at the wrong time.

    Pretty much.

Miami had been there the year before. They were primed to win it all. OKC looked a little star struck. I still don't see OKC winning it anytime soon. They'll have to catch lightning in a bottle and have home court.

why not just bet the bulls in the first 2 series then (provided they don't face miami)? if they meet miami before the conf finals this strategy won't work.

I know rose is coming back. The style of play that he plays is so dominating. He can definitley adjust very quick, and just create open shots for everybody else. Deng, Noah, Hamilton, Rose, and Gibson and bench can get the job done. Bulls will take the number four seed, and have a decent road to Conference finals.

Decent road? Having to beat Miami in the 2nd round is a decent road?

Good god, what would be a tough road?

I would argue Heat are more vulnerable in the early rounds. That team is just chilling now that the streak is over. They're back to coast mode. A team like the Bulls with extreme defensive intensity might be able to give them problems until the Heat get rolling again like they did last year vs OKC.

Obviously it's still a prayer but at least there is some hope. If you read through this thread I actually like this idea but we were all assuming Rose was going to come back.
