4th game in 5 nights ...... myth or reallity?

Had been trying to work this out and finally did it and wanted to share it, here are records ATS in NBA this season for teams playing a 4th game in 5 nights:

Overall: 20 teams have covered ,37 did not cover, if we had played fading every single team playing 4th in 5 would be a nice 64.91% .

For those 20 wins or covers, 5 have been home teams (4th game) and 15 away, for the 37 teams that did not cover 14 were at home in the 4th game and 23 away.

Will finish a record team by team and will post it when ready, so far I found Dallas, Memphis and Utah haven´t played a 4th in 5 yet.

Hopes helps or at least entertains

I'd be curious to see the amount of rest or schedule on the other side too.

Like for example yesterday OKC had played 4 in 5 nights but sat a lot vs the Bobcats. I think the bigger factor was Popovich having an extra day of practice for his squad coming off an embarrassing loss. I won't bet against him in similar situations anymore, he's too good of a coach.

Teams that have failed to cover in this situation go from elite teams to scrubs, even Indiana twice, Miami twice, and Spurs once have failed vs scrub teams, inetresting fact here is that OKC has lost their 3 games playing the 4th in 5.

Yea this was one of Dexter's autoplays, however it required the team not playing their 4th game in 5 days to have at least 1 day of rest. For example, the Bucks @ Wizards game wouldn't factor in because both teams played the night before.

I'm still interested to see how it pans out.

Nice stats, does it matter if the opponent is also on 4th and 5 or back to back? Suns are a b2b i want to see how this will play out.

Good work mate hope you keep updating this thread.

I would like to know what the consensus is on how a team is affected both offensively and defensively by playing back to back games? Are they better or worst defensively and offensively playing lets say, 4 games in 5 nights?

I think that a teams defence is affected most in these situations as it would be logical to assume that they are more tired and prone to slack off defensively.

Hey Artie - this system has a lot of merit especially if the team on the "4th in 5" is the away team; check out the chart....the home team since the All-Star break has covered 4 out of 6, while the away team has lost all situations (0-6).

@commpicks yeap indeed home teams are doing better , anyway I will try to work this today to see exactly what other factor may be affecting this type of games. either way I think we can call this as a valid factor to take into consideration to cap games.

Hawks dont care about tonight. They have already made the playoffs. They are just fighting for seed position which is not a big deal.

Whereas this is MUST WIN game for dallas.

My point is, this is not an auto play on hawks.

ah no, this thread is just to follow the myth of a 4th in 5 actually I am thinking to leave alone Dallas game , cause as you said there´s too much in game for Dallas and they own a pretty impressive stats ATS. I just post here the games involving a 4th in 5 not meaning they are a play.

Went against my better judgement and played them +11 very small. I truly despise this trash team even going back to last year with super dope playing for them. They are too unpredictable for me and on my auto no play list with Atl, and Brooklyn... but fukk it $20 for shits and grins!

They have been a little more competitive lately but still plenty capable of losing by 20+ on almost any night. This is a small fade 4th in 5 degen wager for beer $$ lol!
