MEMPHIS to be in finals this year. your prediction?

    today is November 14, 2012.

i've seen enough memphis basketball to know they will be in the finals this bball season.

no i dont think lebron will repeat with miami, derrick rose isnt coming back anytime soon, okc lost a vital harden and durant/westbrook combo wont be enough. bryant/nash/howard isnt enough of a trio that craves it enough.

i will bring this thread back up in june 2013.

    what is your prediction?
    cheers!

The thing about the Grizzlies is, there was a HUGE amount of disappointment within the organization after how last season played out. The absence of ZBo and the late arrival of Haddadi forced Gasol to play far too many minutes early in the year as the team's only legit big man and by the time Randolph came back, Gasol was out of gas. Randolph never really got going and that was all for 2012.

Coming into this season, the organization was very aware that they're on the clock to a certain extent in pursuing a run at the NBA championship. As such, they prioritized preparation in the offseason, making sure they were ready to hit the ground running for the start of the year, with everyone healthy and ready to work as a cohesive team.

Don't confuse the Grizzlies being further advanced than most teams to start the year with them being a dominant team. They're a very good group, and will be competitive, but you're going to see the gap close as time goes on and other teams round into form.

clippers are pretty damn good. however, nothing in this thread should be taken seriously other than sk's post because it's just a bunch of people trying to be heroes in a thread that will be buried by tomorrow.

All comes down to 3 teams in each conference

    West: Clippers, Griz, Lakers
    East: Knicks, Celtics, Heat

Can't predict which teams will get hit w/ injuries but if i had to pick i'd go w/ a Memphis/Boston Finals.

lol @ anyone that even says Knicks or Celtics in the finals. Miami is not losing in the East, period. No chance unless Lebron is injured. If Wade is injured, theyll still make it out of East.

West is open. Give the edge to OKC tho. Dont like Lakers becuz if they dont get to top 4 seed, their playoff schhedule wil be hell and will be too banged up by WCF if they survive

Lol this is funny to read half a year later. Still think Clips could have done some damage if they avoided Memphis in the 1st round.

Interesting. What made you stay away from the Thunder in the West?

Just never thought they had the right pieces to repeat as Western Conf champs. Harden trade was beyond retarded and they're paying for it now that Russ got injured. If Harden walked after this season then good riddance, but trading him on the last yr of a rookie contract when you're a title contender was the wrong thing to do. If anything they should have held out for something better in return

What they should have done was traded westbrook for either al jefferson, paul millsap, or derrick favors. I'd prefer favors but i doubt they get him. Regardless they would have won the title if they did that and kept harden and gave him Westbrooks 80 mill. Harden is an unbelievable talent and westbrook cant play a half court offense very well. He is overrated

they would have been able to split the point between Harden, maynor, and reggie, d fish and even KD. easy to say after westbrooks injury though

westbrook for one of those 3?

if any gm trades russell westbrook for paul millsap he should be stoned to death.
